About Pam Basilius
It is my intention in opening my home for rent to offer comfort, bring happiness to people and make magical memories for children they will carry with them for a lifetime. Life is so challenging for many especially now. It is my way of creating a business that is green, brings peace to people and gives back to the community.
Pam Basilius purchased this House in 2000
Why Pam Basilius chose Springfield
The reason I chose to buy my house in this location was because of the beautiful land, views and very quaint, homey house and walking distance to the McKenzie River. It was a happy home with 11 children being raised here and you can tell there was a lot of love. We are a mile off I-5 and 4 miles drive to downtown Eugene. The feel of out in the country but close to everything.
What makes this House unique
You and your family get to experience farm life. We are 1928 working farm nestled in an old Walnut grove with very old vegetation and flowers. There are hummingbirds that feed daily and live here year round feed. The birds feed off feeders just a few feet from house. We are a 5 minute walk from the beautiful McKenzie River.

Great place to stay for U of O events
This was a really nice place to stay with Alpacas, chickens and chihuahuas as a bonus. Pam is very friendly and helpful about the local area. Perfect location if your going to an event at the University. Would definitely stay again.
Thank you Kim for the great review. It was so nice having you all here and love how much you enjoyed the animals. I am blessed to have such wonderful guests like you. Hope to see you again.
Comfortable house, wonderful animals
Pam’s house had everything we needed for a week-long mid-winter stay. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is fully-equipped. The surroundings are quiet and safe, and we enjoyed walks down to the nearby McKenzie River. We especially enjoyed Pam’s animals – three alpacas, lots of chickens, and three adorable Chihuahuas. Pam supplied us with delicious fresh eggs from her chickens. We highly recommend Pam’s house for a stay in the Eugene area.
Dear Charlie and Carrie,
It was such a pleasure to have you stay at the farm. It was great talking with you and hearing of your traveling adventures. I really appreciate the beautiful and warm sweater you knitted for little Livie. She loves it and is so warm in it. That was really kind of you. My pups loved you and it is such a gift when people want to spend time with my dogs. It was so cute to see all three dogs on your lap. Looking forward to seeing your ventures on your blog. Thank you for the great review. Hope to see you again soon. Best wishes always, Pam
Great place! Looking forward to another trip!
We joined my brother and sister-in-law last weekend for an Oregon football game and stayed at Pam's lovely place. What a great choice we made, the home is over 90 years old, it is so well kept and clean. Very comfortable beds and great layout of the two-bedroom home. The alpacas and chickens we're a fun bonus to our weekend! Thank you so much Pam!
Thank you for your review. I really enjoyed meet all of you. I am so happy your enjoyed your stay. Hope you got nice selfies with Fozzie. Go Ducks!
Checked all of the boxes for us
Nice experience for our family of four, visiting our uofo freshman. Pam generously let our daughter interact with the chickens. Shuttle stop for football game is literally across the street. Away from the crowds in town for parents’ weekend but close enough to get to/from campus quickly.
Thank you for your review. I was so happy when your daughter wanted to help teach the pullets how to drink out of the auto water system She loved holding the birds and took her job very seriously. It was precious. I look forward to seeing you in the again soon. Go Ducks!

Thank for for the nice review Karen. It was so nice to have all of you on the farm. I really enjoyed our conversations and your family. Hope you got good selifies with Fozzie. It's great to have to have other people that grew up on farms stay here. Hope you can make it down for another Duck game. You must have brought them luck. Go Ducks!
Literally, a slice of heaven...
Looking for a comfy and clean place to stay, near a pristine river, a short drive from restaurants and shopping and convenient access to a shuttle bus ride to an Oregon Duck game and most important...alpacas? Look no further! Pam has created a slice of heaven with her cozy house. Tucked not far from I-5, it literally is a peacful sanctuary. It was so easy to book it, Pam’s communication is excellent and ingress/egress instructions were simple and straight-forward. I won’t hesitate to rent this slice of heaven when I come back.
Dear John, Thanks for the wonderful review. You were a fabulous guest and I really enjoyed showing you around the farm and what I am doing. here. I was touched how much Fozzie loved it when you came out to the fence, he ran right up to you and wanted to do a selfie. lol.. My animals all loved you. The house was spotless and I appreciate the bottle of wine. What a nice treat. Thanks so much. Hope to see you again soon. Best wishes
Since A Peaceful Sanctuary is located on the out skirts of town, with the wilderness on one side and the city on the other. Our farm has the feeling of being out in the country yet close to everything. We are conveniently located on a bike path so getting around of your bike is easy and safe. Our farm is close to Malls, theaters, many restaurants, a great Micro Brewerys, a post office, dry cleaners, liquor store, or go hiking Mt Pisgah, take a short 1 hr trip to the coast or the Cascade Mts, A big local favorite is to go tubing down the McKenzie River..............
