About this property

Private Hot Tub in the the pines in Quiet Neighborhood

OUR CABIN IS IN A VERY QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD. LOUD NOISE AND PARTYING IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THIS CABIN. WE LOVE HOSTING ALL GUESTS BUT IF YOU THINK THIS MAY BE IN YOUR GROUP'S PLANS, THIS CABIN IS PROBABLY NOT A GOOD FIT FOR YOUR GROUP.

This charming, clean and nicely decorated cabin (we call 'the baby') is adorable. It is a great family oriented cabin in the very wooded but friendly area of Agate Bay.

It has a freshly redesigned & renovated, fully equipped kitchen, newly renovated bathrooms & bedrooms, & a completely redecorated loft sleeping area with new linens and a cozy sitting\play area for the kids (and those young at heart). The icing on the cake is the large deck with your own hottub, great for warming up in the winter and lounging in the summer.

We are very close to one of the Tahoe Rim trail entrances. A beautiful view once you reach the top. An hour hike for all ages. It is also fun to walk to breakfast to the old Carnelian Bay Post Office converted to a wonderful old world cafe.

In the winter months the woods are covered with snow and the cabin is warm and cozy. Ski lifts near by are North Star, great for family.

Diamond Peak which is a bit smaller (and sort of a secret to the tourists) is close, and is a lot of fun with three very long runs. Mt. Rose is to the east a bit further.

It is also close to Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley but the above are a bit less of a drive. The cabin is on a slope so tobogganing is right outside the door.

Then back to the cabin for a hot, relaxing Jacuzzi on the deck.

You will love your stay in 'The Baby' as it has brought many wonderful memories to our family and friends and many return renters.

Great Cabin
We've been here two years in a row now and likely will come back again. It's a great cabin for two families where the kids can share their own space in the loft.

Road Maintenance
Unfortunately the road maintenance around Lake Tahoe during our visit was a pain in the ass. This cabin is very obviously a project of family love. We did not use the upstairs but there is plenty of room. Limited bathroom space, but very doable fo a half dozen people. We recommend

Beautiful home!
We loved staying here. The house was beautiful, cozy, and just what we had hoped for. We were within an easy driving distance of multiple ski resorts. We also loved relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the gorgeous trees. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals at home, too!

I manage our cabin for my family. When my family bought the cabin in 1996, I was in high school, but now have a family of my own. I love that we can now share our love of Lake Tahoe with our 2 kids. I've visited Lake Tahoe my entire life, it's my favorite place in the world. I've kept my mom's brief description about our family which she posted on here many years ago:

We are a family of 5. We spend a lot of time at the Lake. We live and work in San Diego, Ca. We love to get away to our cute quaint cabin in the pines. It is a wonderful year round retreat.

Why they chose this property

We have always visited Lake Tahoe to ski and snowboard as a family. We have family in Reno, so the annual ski vacation included much of our extended family as well. We finally bought our own cabin and we spend a good amount of time year round at the Lake. In a lot of ways I now prefer the summertime for our time at Lake Tahoe. Winter is wonderful but there is so much to do in the summer.

What makes this property unique

There is a great hiking trail directly above the cabin. It is pretty straight up at times but well worth the fire thighs. The trail up is about 1 hour. You get to sit at the rim and see the view of the whole lake. It is a thrill and too gorgeous for words. The hike down is quick and fun. Watch out for the bears! Skiing and snowboarding parks are close by. North Star and Diamond Peak and Mt. Rose are very close.
