Why Margaret chose Inverness
We marvel at Point Reyes and the choices of fun fresh things to do in this boundless and well-protected natural preserve.
What makes this House unique
Heart's Desire hikes, Bodega Bay for a tour of Hitchcock's set for The Birds and crab salad in town, oysters at Hog Island, dinner in Point Reyes, the local farmer's market on Saturdays, walking Kehoe Beach for big tumbling waves, reading the paper at Drakes, blackberry picking in September...the list goes on and on!

Amazing house for kids!
A wonderful, rustic house, very quiet setting. We were able to watch deer out the window while reading on the couch. Our kids loved all the nooks and crannies, and the play room and rope swing were a huge hit. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Charming Rustic House
This is a spacious yet cozy family country house full of books, charm, and light. The main building offers a well-laid-out kitchen that opens to a dining room and living room, with a master bedroom upstairs. A connected addition has a smaller second living room and three bedrooms, including one with two sets of bunk beds for the kiddos. A combination of plate-glass windows and skylights offer delightful views of Inverness's trees from the living room and master bedroom. Outside are a rope swing and outdoor shower.
I celebrated a big birthday here with my family and some close friends, and everything was absolutely perfect. My 12-year-old daughter loved having a room with bunk beds, not to mention the magical room with all the incredible toys in it! There was ample room for the eight of us, and the upstairs bedroom especially was gorgeous, with great views, stained-glass windows, and a ceiling that makes you dream you are in a ship! We had a dinner party to celebrate and there was lots of room at the big table, and the kitchen had everything we needed. So many beautiful touches in the house. And communication with Margaret was perfect. Will be returning for sure!
Could not better!
My family and I enjoyed our stay in this lovely home! The hosts put a great deal of thought into making it so comfortable!
Beautiful, unique historic home in Inverness. This is a special house with charm, beauty and room for family and friends to gather. I spent several days here with my family over Thanksgiving. What a fabulous place to cook and share a meal together! There was room for cooks and sous chefs in the open and fully stocked kitchen. The owners clearly lived in this home and spent time together in a similar way. I loved the wood and stain glass aesthetic of the master bedroom and living room. Rustic but updates with important amenities like heaters in the bathrooms and spare bedrooms. It rained while we were there so we really appreciated those upgrades. Would definitely return!
