About Clair Hensler
My husband and I grew up in the area but we didn't meet until we in our 30's. He is an MD practicing ENT and allergy in Saratoga Springs. I manage the practice and run the household. We have one daughter in college and a few pets. We have always wanted to live on the water so being here is like a dream come true.
Why Clair Hensler chose Queensbury
My husband grew up in the area and spent summers at the camp next door. We purchased the cabin shortly after we were married and spent summers there. Once our daugher was born we decided to build our year round home next door. It was important for us to maintain the natural beauty of the cabin and its surrounding. We wanted to be able to share this wonderful place with others.
What makes this Cabin unique
I just love being so close to everything but when I am at the cabin I feel like I am in the middle of the Adirondacks. Sitting on the screened porch is like sittling in a tree house. The sunsets can be magnificent.

This is a lovely cottage with an awesome lake view! Clair and Rob were very easy to work with and provided some great recommendations for local restaurants and points of interest. The property is nicely appointed and very comfortable! Quiet and secluded but still close to shops and restaurants. We would love to come back again!!
Recharge and Reset
Had an awesome time at this small cabin in the woods. Skipped rocks on the lake. S’mores on a fire. Hike Mt Prospect. These city slickers are rested and recharged and ready for a NYC fall season. We’ll be back in the summer for sure!
So happy you enjoyed your stay. Looking forward to your return.
Wonderful relaxing vacation
Very relaxing which is just what we were looking for after getting married. Cabin is exactly as described with beautiful views of the water. It's a short drive to the outlets and Lake George Village all while secluded at the end of a dead end road so our dog could roam without having to worry too much. Clair and her husband were very helpful and gave us great recommendations for dinner. We enjoyed our visit.
Very cozy and peaceful
Great lake views!!
We enjoyed our stay very much.... The view, the location, the privacy. We brought our pup with us for the week, and while we oblige by scooping our did poo, apparently the previous renters did not and my husband stepped RIGHT into it, outside the back door 😜. Ewwwww.... He took his sneaker down to the lake to clean it, no biggie. We were a little let down by no use of any kayaks or canoes - that would've been SUCH a great bonus. Otherwise we enjoyed a peaceful week of hiking, visiting Lake George which is extremely dog friendly, and exploring. Clair was very responsive to questions. Great spot!
Sorry about the dog poo. I expect people to clean up after their own dogs. I do the best I can to keep the cabin and grounds clean and maintained sorry I didn't catch that. As for the kayaks, one disappeared so we replaced them with a paddle boat. I have updated the list to reflect this change.
On the lake!
All previous reviews are spot on and sum up this truly right on the lake cabin. It is exactly as described and pictured and provided a brilliant spot for our week away with the dog who got to be off leash the entire time as the house is secluded on a dead end road, a huge peace of mind.
The location couldn’t be better, an easy drive to Lake George, and hikes of all levels are within a 5 - 25 min drive.
The cabin is clean and the kitchen very well stocked, you don’t need to bring anything but food) the outdoor grill is new with loads of propane and there are towels galore.
We spent all our time outside swimming, cannon balling off the deck, boating over to the Docksider for lunch or relaxing in the screened in porch which has a stunning view of the lake.
Hosts were super friendly, helpful, available and very respectful of privacy, even shared some home grown veggies with us!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for the wonderful review.
Feel like your miles away from everything in this secluded historic stone cabin but your really only minutes away from all kinds of activities. We are close to the bike path, near golf courses, close to amusement parks and mini golf, go carts and outlet shopping. To the south we are minutes from Saratoga where you can find the oldest flat track and a casino. To the north is beautiful Lake George 'the queen of lakes' and the gate way to the Adirondack park. There is so much to do a week is hardly enough time.
