About Taylor Plumblee
We are native Floridians and work in Orlando, FL. When our oldest daughter elected to attend college in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, we decided to buy a home away from home for her and for us. We didn't realize that 15 years later, we would still come here and feel the pull of the Blue Ridge. Growing up in Miami, I learned about the Blue Ridge Mountains from my father who was raised in the hills and hollers of Kentucky. I believe that once you have the mountain bloodline...it is a lifelong thing. When my Dad first walked in the house so many years ago, he cried. True story. I know he felt that a little part of him was back "home" and walking the range with his beloved Father. I can relate. Now, we keep making new memories in this home. With our extended family, we love bringing the grandkids to the house and make it to the mountain home as often as our work will allow. I love to go up alone just to reset my soul from the hectic pace of a busy work life. We have thought about selling the house and getting another but we keep coming back to our current location, the design layout, and the feeling of peace. Some things can not be bought and we know this is the right house for us and for generations to come. Please enjoy your stay.

Why Taylor Plumblee chose Maggie Valley
I sell real estate for a living so I know that finding the right home is a process. It's instictive. But for me, I KNEW the minute I walked into the home with my Mother. It just has a great vibe and a wonderful bright design. The home is mostly updated and is not a typical NC cottage. Vaulted ceilings, fireplace, two living rooms, wonderful dining area, and a porch that will call you to sit down and zone out. I was literally blown away by the majesty and beauty of the property that sits on almost 2 acres. We bought the home the next day. My Mother loved the house dearly and the next many years, it was my Mom's favorite place to relax. Life is a battle, life is a series of steps, this home is a place of quite refuge and strength. We have had so much fun, so much laughter, so much joy in this house. This is a home full of love. This is home.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage offers year round living and while not mountain top - it is peaceful, serene and surrounded by the sound of rustling trees and lush mountain settings. It has super easy access to surrounding towns and cities and a driveway that is accessible year round. It is also located in Maggie Valley Club which is one of the premier mountain golf courses in all of Western North Carolina and some great winter skiing at Cataloochee Ski Resort. The location is ideal for traveling to art events, fall leaf looking, arts, white water rafting, mountain music festivals and Lake Junaluska. There is so much to see and do in Western North Carolina and our home is a perfect mountain getaway in a charming and chic setting. The back porch is the crown jewel of the house and where we spend most of our time watching the fireflies light up the Carolnia sky. It's God's fireworks. it's magic.

HOME SWEET HOME
What a welcoming home. From the min we arrived on the porch, we felt right at home. The location was perfectly situated within the beautiful fall leaves. Although we felt as if we were a million miles away, we were only minutes from everything. The home was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Although we did not have contact with the owners, we felt very connected with them with their tasteful decor and personal touches. It was very clean with quality bedding. You will not be disappointed. We certainly hope to return soon!!! Thanks for a wonderful fall getaway🍁
Favorite place
Once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Morning Star. Clean, comfortable and close enough to what we want to do with a n away from it all feeling. My granddaughter, like us enjoyed the screened in deck watching the chipmunks below. Our favorite place to stay when visiting Maggie Valley.
Slow down time
Our favorite place to stay in Maggie! Has everything we need in a beautiful tree filled setting. The enclosed porch is our favorite place to be! Rest and relax among the birds and trees. Let the rest of the world melt away. Yet you are close enough to town and only about 45 minutes to Cataloochee to see the elk! You will feel right at home as soon as you walk thru the door. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Charming Mountain Treehouse
Everything was abundantly provided. The driveway approach was a switchback because of the elevation & confounded us at first, but a different approach solved that snag & it was worth the joy of feeling like we were in a luxurious treehouse❗️Waynesville with it’s delightful shops & delicious restaurants was very nearby & central to all the other areas we wanted to visit! We loved our stay in Morning Star Cottage!
Our Stay in Serenity
We loved our 2nd stay in the darling cottage . It is so comfortable and relaxing. We love the Maggie Valley /Waynesville area. People are so fr.iendly. It was wonderful staying at Morning Star
It was wonderful having you back at our home which we also consider your home! Thank you for taking such good care of Morningstar. We look forward to seeing you again.
New Years visit
Would have given 5 stars if the cookware (pots & pans, skillets, etc.) had been better. We really enjoyed the cabin. It was clean and very comfortable. Loved the wood fireplace and the openness of the main living area with all the glass doors and decks.
Thank you so much for your input and we will look into this. Happy to have hosted your for the New Years!
