About Priscilla and Vanessa
My husband, John, and I have lived on Mt Desert Island for nearly 40 years. I landed my dream job seven years ago as head gardener at Thuya Garden, a beautiful English border garden in Northeast Harbor. John is a building contractor and has built many beautiful shingle style homes on the island. We love to travel in our Scamp Camper that we've nicknamed 'Shrimp Scampi'.
Priscilla and Vanessa purchased this Townhome in 1989
Why Priscilla and Vanessa chose Mount Desert
We fell in love with this beautiful property and incredible location in 1989. John built Gardencourt for my mother when she retired to Maine. We now rent the ground floor of our home and we live upstairs. Gardencourt sits on one acre of land along a private driveway in a quiet neighborhood. Check out the beautiful sunsets from Beech Hill or hike Acadia National Park trails just one mile away. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have; call 207-244-4090. Also, my daughter in law Vanessa helps me with all aspect of Gardencourt (207)669 5060. She would be happy to assist our renters with any help needed. Priscilla Hutton.

Clean and comfortable! Great location. Had a wonderful stay with our baby, and family. Thank you!
It was a lovey area and place . My husband, daughter and I enjoyed it very much. Additional bonus watching the deer and turkey out the window!
Slice of Paradise
We really enjoyed our stay at Gardencourt - from the beautiful flowers to the morning deluge of wild turkeys that walked past the kitchen windows. The property is conveniently located to Acadia while being just the right distance from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor (we had no idea how busy it was until we stopped there on our way out of town!). The personal welcome note was a nice touch, as were all the well-stocked amenities in the kitchen and bathroom. Priscilla was so kind to allow us to borrow her cheese grater (in the event the kitchen did not have one...spoiler, it did) so that we could enjoy some of our fresh cheeses from Vermont. We will definitely stay here again if we are able to make our way back to Maine, and highly recommend to others!
Wonderful stay in MDI/Acadia Naional Park
We had a great stay at this VRBO location. We had an issue with the TV/WiFi and it was corrected immediately. All of the items necessary for our stay was there plus it was nice to have the DVR on the TV and simple things like a toothbrush holder in the bathroom was much appreciated. They also provided brochures and suggestions on where to visit the Park. The area was centrally located to all that we wanted to do. I highly recommend this location and will consider it again if we go back to this area. (luv'd that they accepted our dog too!)
We really enjoyed being such a short drive to all Mount Desert has to offer, yet nestled in a quiet and charming neighborhood. John and Priscilla were the perfect hosts - there if we needed them, but very respectful of our privacy. The rental had all the amenities we needed or could have asked for.
Lovely MDI Retreat
Quiet, cozy place about 20 minutes outside Bar Harbor. Close to lovely views and trails on the the “quiet side” of MDI as well as an excellent organic farm stand down the street. We have stayed at several VRBO/ AirBnB properties and found this to be very comfortable, spotless and better well-equipped than most with basic supplies. It was very nice to meet the owners who live upstairs. They are very welcoming, quiet and accommodating. We would definitely return.
Garden Court is 1 mile from a boat launch and small swimming beach at Long Pond called 'Pond's End' by us locals. Guest privileges to fish for mackerel or launch kayak/canoe from Somesville town dock. All other information will be available to our guests when they arrive at Gardencourt
