About Marc Edwards
Baby Bear was the 2nd of the 4 houses purchased in the Atlanta area. The 3 Bears are all next to one another and this one is in between Mama and Papa Bear. Goldilocks is on sandy Clear Lake 10 minutes north of the Bears. While the smallest of the 4 homes, it has the most charm.
Marc Edwards purchased this Cottage in 2004
Why Marc Edwards chose Atlanta
This house is often rented in conjuction with Mama or Papa Bear given it's location in the middle. This is great for family reunions or larger groups of friends and is discounted by 33% when rented as a group.
What makes this Cottage unique
This Permalog home is very energy efficent - warm in the in the winter and cool in the summer with one small A/C unit. The new green metal roof with skylights add charm and really light up the living room. The new bathroom has a jet tub and was completely redone in 2012. pictures don't do justice
The only way to enjoy the view from the tree house deck, that overlooks the lake, is to DO IT! Couldn't have enjoyed it more. What a lovely and charming place! Cottage was bright and cheery. Everything was perfect!!! Quiet, serene and beautiful! Marc went above and beyond to make our stay one of the best getaways my wife and I have ever had. A cottage with a million dollar view!
Hey guys, I really enjoyed meeting you both!
The view from deck, built around the trees is special, as are the new steps leading down to the lake. It's so peaceful on the lake and having the 3 house next to each other, ensures that all of the guests get to share 11 watercraft between the houses at no extra costs.
I hope you'll be back soon to decompress!
Cozy cottage retreat
Beautiful property overlooking Crooked Lake. Quiet and serene setting, nice deck and gazebo for reading, lounging with your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. Rustic Baby Bear cottage has everything you’ll need for 2 people. Boats available for kayaking or fishing... inclement weather conditions did not per permit us to use them. Located 35 minutes west to Gaylord or east to Alpena. Friendly and attentive property owner nearby. Great getaway in Michigan’s Elk Capital...heard their calls and many owls too!
Two Thumbs Up
First time ever visiting Atlanta, Michigan, and staying on Crooked Lake. What a peaceful, serene and rejuvenating experience. As always, accommodations mean everything, and this was top notch. The owner was very affable and also extremely helpful when our car wouldn't start our first morning there.
Thanks guys! Yes, the car issues you had were unique and I am glad I could help. I really enjoyed meeting you both and solving the World's problems on the Baby Bear deck!
Hope to see you again soon!
Great spot for R&R
Cute cottage tucked away on the lake. Quiet and peaceful, the lake is still in the morning and goes well with a cup of coffee! Baby bear was the perfect place for two but staying in multiple properties would be a great set up for bringing the entire family! The dogs swam everyday, we kayaked around the lake, heard some Elk and got to see a few loons. The cottage had all the comforts of home; in town there is a great grocery store and a cute coffee shop!
Didn't Want To Leave
I stayed here with 3 other ladies and we had plenty of room. Bed was comfortable and the ac was a wonderful luxury as we were there in high 80's heat! The deck is fantastic to sit and take in the views We spent hours playing euchre, drinking wine, laughing and making memories with friendly chipmunks keeping us entertained. My mom fished off the dock with success and the lake itself is gorgeous. Having lived in Colorado it reminded me of a canyon lake. Loons bid us farewell in the evenings. We went to Alpena for dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Mangos and the food was exceptional! Thank you for sharing your cottage woth us!
