About Stefan and Binget Nilsson
Stefan and Binget Nilsson are your hosts along with their three children, Kjell (born 1999), Bjorn (born 2002), and Annika (born 2004). They moved to Seward in February of 1996. Binget grew up in Kenai, Alaska and spent many years fishing salmon on the banks of the Kenai River. After finishing college at the University of Washington in Seattle (1990), she put her pack on her back and went travelling down to New Zealand. In February of 1990, Stefan and Binget met on a bus (“The Magic Bus”) on the South Island of New Zealand and fell in love. At the end of the trip, neither thought they would see the other again. But it was God’s plan that they be together, and through interesting circumstances (and a helpful German friend!), they finally decided to be together and were married September 19, 1992 in Kenai. Your hosts love living in Alaska with their little ones, and appreciate the great outdoor opportunities that abound in the Seward area. Binget has a history in mountain climbing and has extensive knowledge of the trails and mountains in and around Seward. If you love to hike, bike, run the trails, or climb some of the local peaks…she can point you in the right direction! Stefan’s big love is hunting and fishing. He will be able to tell you the right lake or river for Dolly Varden, Rainbows, and Grayling...and he may even share his secrets about what the halibut and salmon are biting in Resurrection Bay ! They are excited to be able to share their outdoor experiences with you.

Why Stefan and Binget Nilsson chose Old Mill
We love living out of town in our little neighborhood called "Old Mill Subdivision". There are towering Sitka Spruce trees throughout the subdivision that house Bald Eagles and a myriad of other birds, as well as the pesky squirrels that chatter away when you get too close. As well, you may see the occasional moose, porcipine, and black or brown bear wander through the area. The quiet life and gorgeous views are what suits our lifestyle in this area.
What makes this Guest House unique
We enjoy having the river run through our neighborhood, which occasionally will have trout and salmon swimming. The hiking trails and berry picking in the Fall right outside our door is another plus for our family.

Nice cabin. Very quiet. Friendly and helpful hosts. Highly recommended.
We had a nice time at the cabin.
We loved everything about this property. It’s ingeniously designed and beautifully decorated. The cabin is in a quiet and impressive wood, has mountain views, but is close to town. Our hosts were kind and delightful. We ours gladly return any time.
Best little guesthouse in Alaska!
This little property is amazing. It is an adorable little cabin / guest house behind the owner's property. You can glimpse the beautiful mountains of Seward from between the trees. Although in a small neighborhood, it feels secluded and private. The owners were extremely helpful with tips, tricks and advice on where to eat and things to do.
The Guest- House itself has everything you need from a small refrigerator to coffee pot, toaster, and microwave. The bathroom has the best shower head and water pressure I've ever seen in a rental. They did a great job decorating. Lots of wonderful little touches. It was extremely clean as well.
Note:. Check in time is 6 pm. We did not originally see this listed. got there a little bit early. But called and the owners were able to accommodate us. This would not have been the case if they had had another booking the night before. Just be aware that it is a later than normal check-in.
I can't recommend this enough. Just adorable. Great value.
Comfy stay in the woods.
We had a lovely time at Binget and Stefan's cabin. The chance to sit outside around an open fire pit was lovely. The hospitality shown us was very welcoming with special touches that warmed our hearts...I don't want to say what they were as it could spoil the surprise!
The kitchen facilities are small and limited, but we were able to use the grill, only yards away at the backside of their house, to cook the halibut that we'd caught while fishing. If necessary, I'm also sure they would have let us use some refridgerator space too, as there was only a very small fridge.
Beautiful surroundings, only 10 minutes from Seward. Great for a short stay.
We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. The cabin is very clean. The owners are really nice. One night she even backed a delicious cake for us. It was a awesome place for us to stay.
Play Area for Children, and Gardens to Enjoy!
