Why Aaron chose Detroit
We fell in love with Detroit Lake in college. It was always the first camping trip of the year. 20 years later, married with children, we decided it's much more comfortable to enjoy the Lake's ammenities in a cabin! Our first 'cabin' was more of a house, so we were really excited when this cabin came on the market. We've always wanted a cabinesque cabin with all the comforts of home and this house is perfect. We love it!
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin is at the end of a dead end street with only one real neighbor. This means that there's little to no traffic. You're free to enjoy the closeness to town AND a bit of privacy. Our favorite part of the cabin is having a bunch of friends up (we own the adjacent cabin as well & there are multiple tent locations), cooking a big dinner, and enjoying it at the outdoor picnic table & around the large firepit. Then hours of letting the kids play outside while we converse at the fire. There's also plenty of board games, 100's of movies and a mini foosball/pool/ping pong table to keep the kids occupied. It's camping with the luxury of a fully stocked house. Really, we throw in perishables, a change of clothes and go.

Just what we needed with out the accusations.
The Cabin was just what we needed after a day at the mountain. The downfall was that the heater downstairs did not work so downstairs was freezing cold especially during mid January. Also, the owner accused us of damaging the cabin (the heater when it was already not working) and stealing utensils (why would we steal utensils?) and did not allow us to rent again based on these false accusations. At first he apologized saying it was the renters before us and then said it was us and that’s why we got rejected for the second time we requested for the rental. So I don’t know if he does this on purpose to get more money out of people but I tried to have a reasonable conversation with the owner and told him I would return anything that was “missing” but he never told me anything afterwards. So you take that into conclusion.
Great cozy little cabin nicely tucked away but close enough to walk to the store. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would likely visit again.
My family and I had a great time staying at this little slice of heaven. It was clean, fully stocked and very cozy. We will be returning without a doubt.
Everything was great with the home, the only issue we had was regarding the checkout time. I could not find in the email where a checkout time was listed so the cleaning lady beat us to our checkout! However we do appreciate the understanding.
Quiet and Quaint
Lovely little cottage. We cooked a small Thanksgiving meal, the kitchen had everything we needed. It was lovely.
