Perfect location!
This is a wonderful flat in the heart of Paris. Perfect for our family of four. We didn't spend a lot of time here during the day but it was ideal for our needs! Thank you.
Have you ever been close to absolutely everything?
I felt just like a real Parisian going up to my flat, in this ideally situated apartment. After a few blocks the tree-lined pedestrian street actually turns into the bridge to Notre Dame! The bakery / patisserie in the ground floor is outstanding, producing superb croissants with outsides that shatter but soft insides. The main metro and regional rail station for Paris is just a few hundred meters away, yet there are dozens of restaurants, many with outside seating, within a few blocks. If you like bars, you can choose between gay, straight, Irish, French, etc. There are two grocery stores within a block. The Pompidou modern art museum and it's famous Stravinsky fountain are just two blocks away. There's even a playground for young children a block away, nestled under the majestic Tour Saint Jacques, which is from the 1500s.
With Paris at your doorstep, you might think the apartment wouldn't matter, but it does. This one has hardwood floors throughout, high ceilings and tall windows from every room that look onto a quiet courtyard, and is decorated with adorable advertising posters from the Belle Epoque. Free phone calls to the U.S., a fully stocked kitchen, it's suitable for a long or a short stay (a week was too short). There's even an elevator, though there are about six steps up, and the tub in the bathroom is fairly deep, so it's not truly wheelchair accessible, if that's what you're looking for. On top of it all, the price is very reasonable and the booking process was easy (they take credit cards and some of the staff are native English speakers). There's really no reason to stay in a hotel unless you insist on maid service and hotel furnishings.
Excellent rapport qualité-prix.
Location
The flat is located in 'Le Marais', one of the oldest areas of Paris, between Hotel de Villeand and le Louvre and surrounded by many restaurants and chic fashion boutiques and a huge store name 'le bazar de l'hotel de ville'. The area is very central and within walking distance to Saint Michel, le Louvre, les Halles and much more.Confortable apartment decorated with taste.
