The town is central to an assortment of day trips, along with just relaxing at the house overlooking a most memorable view of Isthmus Bay., and on to Georgian Bay. Spend a day in Tobomory, take the ferry to Flowerpot Island, take a sunset sail along the National park coastline, a day at the beaches, hiking, antiquing, mountain-biking, caving, fishing, The National Parks, "The Grotto" is a must, Singing Sands Beach - there is too much to do - gather back at the house for a cook out or a dinner at The Lions Head Inn. Ask a questionAbout Nona Snell.
Back in the late 70's I backpacked the area for a trips leadership program and never forgot the incredible water and natural beauty. I spoke about it often, and in 2009, our family came to the Lion's Head area and visited the same areas I remembered. It had not changed at all. This is a step back in time - Tobermory, The National Parks - the hiking, panoramic views and the Grotto - all the same. This house on the street we were staying with friends became available - this origianal owner of the home with one of the very first lots was offered a spot in the retirement home in town and we happened to be in the right place at the right time. It's the only place my husband says he can truely relax! We feel very blessed to be able to own a spot like this - and when we are not there - it is wonderful to share the experience with others!

Why Nona Snell. chose Lion's Head
Our family came to vacation and we fell in love with this spot at Lion's Head and the stunning location and vistas. . I came up here the first time in my early 20's leading back-packing trips for the YMCA and always wanted to come back. You can never forget the water - the color and the clarity. This is a place where you can totally unwind and get away from the routine. So much to do and see - or just sleep, enjoy the water and fresh, clean air. This is paradise for the person who appreciates and respects the beauty of unspoiled nature in the great outdoors.
What makes this house unique
The property is in the area protected as a Unesco World Biosphere. When you walk around the back of the house - it just takes your breath away. It has wonderful, healing energy here. The location is amazing and the town has whatever you need. It is a hidden treasure and a great get-away that we enjoy sharing with others. Safe and simple- to go different directions if you like and meet up again at the end of the day. So much to do and see. When you leave, you will never forget the view- and the great memories made here at the " Lion's Head Getaway".
