About Bettywyn and Tom Chapman
We are two professionals in our late fifties and early sixties who enjoy everything about the outdoors during all seasons of the year.
Bettywyn and Tom Chapman purchased this House in 2007
Why Bettywyn and Tom Chapman chose Invermere
This location provides us with an activity center for our hiking, quading, swimming, kayaking, rafting, water skiing, snow skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and ice skating. We are surrounded by golf courses which our friends use, but we are too busy with other activities to have time to golf.
What makes this House unique
We are avid skiers and snowboarders who frequent Kicking Horse Resort in winter. We use our boat on Lake Windermere, and enjoy bird watching in the Columbia Wetlands. We regularly go to the Saturday Farmer's Market on Main Street through July and August. We walk our dog 1.5 km down Walker Lane to the lake. One of our favorite eateries is Ray Ray's, a lovely lakeside restaurant with outside seating, excellent food and great service.

Quiet, close to walking/bike path
We had a nice quiet stay. Close to everything we needed a restaurants, coffee, grocery stores. Has a wonderful walking path right out the back door. Would stay again.
Perfect home base for a quiet weekend
We stayed at Tom and Bettywyn's over the August long weekend of 2019. The home rests within a cul-de-sac of what seems to be a newer development. There are many families and small children around during the day. The home itself sits at the end of the street, and has immediate access to a field that leads to bike and walking paths. It's very serene to look out on, especially from the master bath soaker tub on the second floor!
The home is well stocked, and has just about everything you could need for kitchen essentials (including Coffee - thank you!), bedding, and towels. The only addition we picked up aside from our food were containers for left overs. The television has a DVD hook-up (bring your own DVDs) and Netflix. Perfect for afternoon naps on the day bed on hot afternoons.
Tom and Bettywyn were in their basement suite over the weekend as well. They are so nice, accommodating, thoughtful and have great tips to share about town. Tom even brought us a newspaper on Saturday morning.
Tom and Bettywyn obviously take pride in their property. It was very, very clean and organized. We loved our stay here.
Things to do:
1. Walk to the beach: Forget about Kinsmen Beach. Venture up the road just a little, take a left on Walker's lane, and meander through an enchanting pathway to a rocky bit of water access. If you're lucky, a train will go by! The water down there is clean and refreshing. The walk back up is quicker than you think.
2. Kayak, Canoe or SUP in the Columbia Wetlands: there is water access right in town which gets you off the busy motorized lake and into the serene calmness of the wetlands. Glide among the reeds, watch eagles soarking, and be a bit adventurous. If you're heading back to the dock, turn around at the confluence. After that, the currents get very strong and challenging.
Excellent family vacation
Very clean and well set up. Next to paths and a big field. Our kids had a great time catching bugs.
Not very walkable to downtown or the beach (due to the very steep hill)
Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable beds.
They were very responsive but strict about check in time (to the minute).
Thanks for your review. Sorry about being.strict on the check in time.
We had a check out at 11:00 AM and a check in the same day in the afternoon and our cleaners were scrambling to get finished on time.
Really enjoyed our stay! Great location, especially if you have a dog. The house was well stocked and the hosts were quick to respond. Would stay again!
Thank you for the great review.....I am glad you enjoyed our house....We try to make it a home away from home....Hopefully you come again ....
Accommodating owners and nice place! Everything as advertised.
Thanks for the great review.
Great place to stay for families
We very much enjoyed our stay in Invermere. The house was perfect size for our family enough room to spread out. It was clean, comfortable, and inviting. The rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms had all the necessities to make our stay more comfortable. The house was easy to find and very accessible also. My family and I would definitely recommend renting this house. By far the best expierence we have had.
Thanks for your great review....We are very glad you and your family had a great time.....Take care...
Invermere is nestled in the Columbia Valley surrounded by the Canadian Rocky Mountains to the east, the Purcell Mountains to the west, and features the sandy shores of Lake Windermere. It's the place for all season recreation!
