About Sally Rose Ribeiro
My brothers and I grew up in this house, as did my father's family before us. We love the feel of going back home, as you will when you return again and again! Although we were all transplanted to neighboring states, West Virginia is in our blood. If you like a slower pace, a small town with varied activities for different ages and friendly folks , you will love Nola's House in Marlinton.
Sally Rose Ribeiro purchased this House in 1902

Very nice stay
We had a very nice stay at this house, about a 40/45 minute drive to snowshoe.. nice small town. Very easy process to work with owner.
Caleb, we are glad you came to our home, enjoyed your stay. We look forward to your return! Come back in warmer weather and enjoy the bike trails, the state parks and the many beautiful scenic attractions.
Wonderful historic home
We couldn’t of had a better time in this beautiful historic home. Centrally located we were able to enjoy all the West Virginia had to offer.
Heather and Family,
Thanks for coming and we are so glad you appreciated our Home in the Hills of Pocahontas County. Consider coming back in late spring or summer. There are so many beautiful things to see and do you would be amazed!
As always, Sally and Family
Older house with a lot of character
6 young adults and one dad went skiing at snowshoe and this was our hangout when not skiing. It had everything we needed to enjoy our time together and to sleep comfortably.
We are so glad that you All enjoyed your stay at Nola’s House!
Please plan to come back again soon either to ski or bike, canoe, fish or any of the many offerings of my hometown, Marlinton, and Pocahontas County!
Our stay at Nola's house
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Nola's house but, it is a very old house and has a lifetime of items inside of the house which made it a bit tricky to navigate around. We were very grateful for our time but, would recommend possibly cleaning out some of the items before renting in the future.
Danielle, I appreciate your comments about our house and will take your comments under advisement.
It should be noted that the house is described as an old family home and I found it interesting that other guests from 2013 on, have enjoyed our home as it is.
Have a good New Year!

Great historic house in Marlinton
We had a great stay at Sally’s house. The description was accurate and there was so much space for my family to spread out after skiing all day unlike cramped condos. Kitchen was well equipped. Really enjoyed the historic WV decorations. Short 35 minute drive to Snowshoe We will stay here again. Thanks for the great experience!
We are so glad that you and your family enjoyed our family home.
Please plan to come back again soon; we will leave the latch string out for you! Come back to ski or visit the WVA State Parks, The National Forests and all the other attractions of Pocahontas County!
Sally Rose Ribeiro, owner of Nola’s House
Loved the house. There were 8 of us and Nola's house provided comfortable accommodations for all.
Visiting Nola's house is like visiting Grandma's house. Very enjoyable.
Thank you all so much!
From our family to yours...ya'll come back soon!
Nola's House is located in beautiful and historic Pocahontas County with varied outdoor sports, scenic vistas, historic sites and awesome state parks. I would highly recommend Bear Town, Droop Mountain, Watoga and Seneca State Parks.
