We were very happy with our stay. The place was clean and lots of light. It seems to be in the middle of nowhere and is very quite and peaceful, but only about 35min from Redwood National Park.
The kitchen also had everything that one would need.
We would def like to be back!
Loved the chalet!
We absolutely loved staying here! Highly recommend and would stay again.
Nice house in beautiful forest surroundings
House is comfortable and clean. The two things that would make it so much better is if it had a deck to sit on to enjoy the lovely outside area, and if the windows had screens. We used the house for visiting the redwoods. It’s location is great for that and for visiting Arcata. We stayed upstairs.
We got to destination and found other people there
Evidently double booked or some confusion - one house that I thought was ours -I never received info that we were supposed to be upstairs? I would’ve never booked as I have mobility issues.
I’ll be contacting HomeAway
I spoke to owner
We were forced to get a hotel 40 min away
Very Clean and Eco-Friendly but take note, its a duplex
This cabin is comfy and cleanish--It is actually a duplex type cabin with a rental on top and on bottom (which I somehow missed in the bio). We got there quite late (midnight) and were very confused about where we were supposed to stay because there were cars already in the driveway and lights on. Imagine our frustration at midnight trying to figure out what to do. After driving around for 20 minutes, going up and down the mountain, we decided that this was the only option as to where we were supposed to be. We got out and walked up the stairs and entered the code. It worked! And there were not actually guests in there, only in the basement. It would have been much more convenient to know we were staying on the top of the cabin and that the grounds would be shared with another family. We also tried to call the owner once or twice and he never once answered his phone. However, the cabin was nice with plenty of hot water and our deposit was refunded in a timely manner.
Enjoy a secluded retreat in this hand-crafted, newer home in the Redwoods. Bathed in sunlight, the chalet is a short stroll to the Mad River and only minutes from HSU and downtown Arcata's local shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and Community Forest.
This hand-crafted, newer split-level home has a welcoming covered front porch, 2 fully equipped kitchens, hardwood and tiled floors throughout and large windows giving one the feeling of being a part of the surrounding, sun-filled redwood forest. The open floor plan accommodates with 4 bedrooms and cozy sleeping loft-all with queen-sized beds. ... each with view & privacy. This south facing homes is warm, rustic contemporary and welcoming for couples, a family or anybody seeking solace in a private Redwood Oasis.
Also, if you have a little time to explore, our location is just a short drive to beautiful local beaches near Eureka and Trinidad, & natural paradises of Patricks Point State Park, Big Lagoon and Redwood National Park.
