The chalet is even more beautiful in person then the pictures show. The view is amazing. The neighborhood is really nice and all amenities are close. The hosts are fantastic. We had a sick child during our stay and the hosts checked in on us. I can’t say enough about their hospitality. I will definitely be returning. This chalet is like a little piece of heaven. We had 4 children with us and they had so much fun. I would definitely recommend this location!
Thank you so much for this great review. I hope your son feel better back home. It is not easy when a kid is sick, so we tried to help you the best we could. Come again. Thank you to you and all your family.
Our family's first white Christmas
AAAAA +++++ From start to finish. The house is beautiful and set in an outstanding part of the Quebec countryside.
The house was set up just right for a very warm christmas welcome, with the ligts and the music.......perfect.
The house is well equipped with everything you need for a small family vacation. From the appliances , the utensils, games and recreational equipment, its all you need to enjoy this piece of heaven by the river, and time of the year.
We were there during an unusually low snow late December 2019 season but we still had some snow and ice and the local roads including the access road to the house was always well maintained with road salt and ploughing. They were very passable with caution.
The area around the house is very safe for the kids as ong as they stay off the frozen river in winter. We always felt safe and welcomed in the community.
Fornthe sake of balance, we do have two minor things that could be improved. The bedroom layouts do not offer much privacy as the sound of snoring, sniffles or shuffling is heard up and over the bedroom wall. Also the bathroom window, next to the front door, need ssome kind of proivacy glass or blinds to eliminate the need for the curtains to be drawn all day and night.
Besides those two minor issues, we'd still book this place again if we ever come back to Quebec.
Thank you Gyna nd Josee, for the warm welcome set up and coming by to say hello on Christmas day. You have a very beautiful house on a very beautiful biece of Quebec property.
Thank you very much for the review. It was great seeing you making a fire outside, looking at the frozen river!!! We will consider your suggestion. Hope you comeback. Have a great Holliday. Best wishes!
Great little place to stay and the view was fantastic.
Quiet country home with beautiful view
Small but spacious in a lovely quiet spot outside the city. The house is clean and comfortable, well-equipped with the basic amenities, and the view out over the river, thoroughly enchanting. Our hosts always responded quickly, were friendly, and provided easy, good directions and information for finding the house and nearby grocery stores. It’s nice to be in the countryside, if you like a peaceful place to relax and return “home” to after days of exploring. The drive into Quebec City was usually 20 minutes, depending on one’s destination. Parking in town was never a problem, and there’s plenty of parking space at the house. There are plenty of interesting and good restaurants in QC, and very pleasant to simply walk along the streets. Good museums, beautiful city.. There was more to explore than we managed to do, but we loved the city and drives through the countryside to see the changing leaves.
One thing I would have liked to know more about was whether there were kayaks available to rent through our VRBO hosts, for paddling on the river, but we didn’t hear back about that, and didn’t ask again once on site.
The house is conveniently located to all major arteries. Just a short driving distance to a grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants. Activities such as golf, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, biking, excursions, shopping and walking trails are available.
If you happen to visit during the fall season, you will witness the sheer beauty of the spectacular changes in foliage. If you are here in the wintertime the nearest ski center is 15 minute away (downhill and cross skiing).
Quebec City boasts many activities for all tastes. A multitude of restaurants for those who like a gastronomic experience. For those who like outdoor activities, in the summer the possibilities are endless. In the area we have, whitewater rafting, waterparks, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, just to name a few. In the winter we have numerous downhill and cross-country ski centers, dog sledding, snowshoeing, etc. Quebec City also has numerous festivals in both winter and summertime.
The Indian Reserve Huron Wendat as well as the Montmorency Falls and Ile d’Orléans are located nearby and are worth a visit in any season.
