One of the finest remaining virgin groves of Bishop pine in California is in the park's Jepson Memorial Grove. Wildlife in the area includes foxes, raccoons, badgers, weasels, chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, deer, bobcats, skunks, wood rats, field mice, moles and other animals. Nature's Treehouse with a View
The Hi House was completely satisfying in every regard. You're surrounded by an immersive experience of old-growth trees and gentle hills. Animals and nature are yours to view, including distant water vistas. Great location for us to discover all the trails in Inverness and Tomales Bay. Would recommend it to anyone who also loves Mid-Century architecture.

Incredible Location!
The location is everything - we've driven by this house so many times and thought it would be great to stay there, and FINALLY got to do it! The views, the location, you just can't beat it! When the weather cooperates, the sunrises and sunsets are amazing. We will be back!

One of Our All Time Favorites
There’s nothing like waking up with a surround view of trees, Tomales Bay peaking over the horizon to the left, the ocean on the distant horizon to the west. Quiet, restorative and a short drive to stunning hikes. We’ve been staying at Hi House for years and will return again and again.

Spectacular Views
The house is near the crest of Inverness Ridge, and three of four walls are floor-to-ceiling glass, so one can see the sun rise over Tomales Bay and set over the Pacific. It’s really quite something. Privacy isn’t a concern despite all the glass because there are no closely adjacent houses. The kitchen is small but complete and fully functional. There is one bed (king), and the sleeping and living areas are continuous, so it’s best for a couple not a larger group. Entrance is by a short outdoor spiral staircase, but once inside, everything is on the same level. There are covered decks on the lateral sides (~east/Tomales and ~west/Pacific) that would be quite pleasant in the summer (we were in late November, so it was too cold and dark to use the decks). Linens, wifi, and furnishings are all in good condition/fully functional. Really a special place for a couple.

Beautiful studio with breathtaking view
Hi House is a good sized studio with a cozy but well appointed kitchen. The furniture is comfortable, especially the bed. The property is in a fantastic location at the edge of Point Reyes National Seashore and Tamales Bay State Park. Sitting on a hill among the trees, you can see the bay and the ocean. The views are nearly unobstructed, with 3 full sides being floor to ceiling windows. You can also enjoy them from the ample deck. We look forward to spending another wonderful getaway at Hi House!

Just Fantastic
Everything about this place is excellent. So peaceful and open. You might want to bring sleeping masks because the sunrise can be a bit bright in the mornings and there are no curtains on the windows. It's completely private though as it's high in the air. Highly recommended for a romantic get away.

Stay among the trees
Loved it. Great location that offered us our favorite locations, the best of both worlds, being ong the trees and near the ocean. The Hi House is remote enough to enjoy the nature but close enough to a few places to eat, including Point Reyes Station. We were very comfortable, slept great in the cool night time temperature and had everything we needed.

Unique Property
This property is one of a kind. Secluded glass house for two on hill with view on wooded lot. Features that count—surrounding decks, outdoor chairs, good tv, dishwasher, tasteful decorations, comfy bed. Close to state park and Pt Reyes. Easy in, easy out.

Had a "cool" stay at the Tree Top House
We enjoyed our second stay at the Tree Top House. It was "cool" with the 1960's style architecture & furniture, "cool" with the ocean fog and breezes through Point Reyes, and "cool" and chill in the bucolic setting with the deer hanging out on the property.

Unique and beautiful retreat
We stayed at Hi House for 2 nights and had a wonderful time! It has such a lovely view of the trees surrounding you. We woke up to the fog-shrouded trees which was magical. We definitely recommend for a quiet and private retreat for a couple.

Unique, mid-century modern glass house
This unique, mid-century modern glass house provided a beautiful Treetop level living experience. The Charming glass house provided 200° wraparound view of forest, Lagoon, and ocean views enhanced by local wildlife in quiet harmony with nature. The facilities were in excellent shape, thoughtfully planned and fully functional providing a magical time transport visit to a prior Frank Lloyd Wright era.

Retired restauranteurs, we now enjoy our grandchildren, sailing, boating, travelling and enjoying all the wonders of our current home here in the heart of Point Reyes National Seashore.

Why they chose this property

This property was purchased as a vacation home by my grandparents. They added a second home, Hi House, in 1960. My siblings and I purchased the property from the family(s) in 1974. We rented occasionally to friends, and in 2004 my wife and I began to offer the homes as vacation rentals.

What makes this property unique

Peace, solitude, nature. Surrounded by Tomales Bay State Park and the Point Reyes National Seashore. Property is isolated, yet only minutes from the seashore, bay, hiking, biking, birding, whale watching and dining.
