2 BR/2 BA Vacation Home With Bunk House
About Donna Degrado
Bob and I have enjoyed our vacation home for years. We have 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Which enjoy the cabin just as much as we do. Bob was born in Chicago Ill. and I was born in GA. But we have made Idaho our home for 40 years. We love the outdoors. Which include fishing, and hiking , riding our atv's and getting to spend time with our grand kids here at the Yankee fork resort-cabin
Donna Degrado purchased this Cabin in 1999
Why Donna Degrado chose Stanley
We worked for years in Stanley id. Cleaning and restoring log homes. The cabin was just great for us to work out of. As we retired we realize we want others to share the great blessing that the Stanley basin has to offer. The SNRA is just down the road. We love going to all the different lakes in this area. Stanley Id is the greatest secret of Idaho. The Cabin is quite and restful yet is close enough to the town that we can still enjoy that .
What makes this Cabin unique
We loved this cabin when we first laid eyes on it. We can sit on the front deck and watch the big game on the hillside or we can go to the back deck and watch the eagles soar overhead. Or watch the fox sneak up trying to steal that last piece of food. Or sit around the fire at night and eat smores. We just love the quite. But we can still ride our atv's or take the kids fishing.

This was a great place to stay. We had 5 couples and enjoyed it tremendously. It was a great base camp for us to go RAZR riding. Thank you Donna and Matt and his family for making it a fun place to stay at.
Great place to stay if you want to get away from the sounds of civilization and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Close enough to Stanley for provisions and restaurants but far enough away so that you know you are away from civilization. While it may be in a cluster of cabins, it is situated such that you have privacy. Wonderful cabin and the inside is perfect for the setting. Close to fishing and hiking trails. Can not recommend enough. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you for staying with us and giving us such a great review.
That is what we have always enjoyed about our Cabin. It is just a short 15 mile beautiful drive, but close enough to all the activities around us.
Please come again and Remind me if you do return and I will give you a welcome back discount. Donna and Bob
Piece of Heaven!!
Perfect escape to the edge of the wilderness. Donna and Bob's Yankee Fork Retreat will not disappoint. Everything you need is at the cabin. Just bring yourself and relax. Donna is great to work with and super responsive. Thanks for a great weekend!!
Beautiful home and location
We had a great visit to the Stanley area. The home and accommodations were excellent. But the check-in process was chaotic. The website told us the key was in one location. In reality, it was in a lockbox. We couldn't reach the owner via phone or e-mail. With the help of neighbors, we were able to access the code in gain entrance through the person maintaining the home. The website needs to be updated with the correct information. We never did access the internet due to lack of password. Beyond those glitches, the home and amenities were as advertised.
Hello John. I am so sorry you had a problem checking in. And that you did not get the Wifi code.
I will correct it right away on the website. But we are happy you enjoyed your stay. Please come again and thank you for bringing the key and wifi matter to my attention and we will address it right away. Please come again.
Great location. Very comfortable, decent sized, well kept cabin. Next time we'll be in the area, we'd book it again without a second thought.
The caretakers are very kind, and Donna was a pleasure to deal with.
Thank you Rick and group for staying with us. Please come again anytime.
GREAT PLACE TO RELAX
I took my wife, and 4 grown kids, to my favorite place in THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD--Yankee Fork River are. I grew up fishing and cutting wood in the area as a child--50 years ago. I walked on the dredge when it was an abandoned hunk of rusting metal. I watched Salmon swimming to their spot of birth, and then dying, after spawning. Enough old guy thoughts....
The cabin, is a nice cabin. Good Beds, Good Kitchen--wife liked the dishwasher, Good Fridge/Freezer. It does get warm in the afternoon, but when sun goes behind the mountain,it starts to cool off. We didn't try the swamp cooler, as I have never used on.. There is W/D which we didn't use, as we were there only 5 days....
There are reviews about the river. True, it was destroyed by the dredge. That was the old days, before restoration was demanded. They are opening up the old river bed, but man's feeble attempts will never match Mother Nature and her ability to fix man's mistakes; over time--aka as thousands of years.
There high mountain lakes in the Stanley area, in the Challis Forest system; old roads to explore, mining towns to explore--atv drivers--please remember these are lane and a half roads, with blind corners--you are not the only users of the road.. Hot springs along the river to soak in.
To end this ramblings, the Sawtooths are an extremely beautiful area, that has been preserved for our enjoyment
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Please come again anytime.
Sit back and relax on the wrap around deck. Or sit around the fire pit at night and enjoy the sounds of the wilderness. Climb the mountain trails. Ride your atv's or motor bikes, fish in the yankee fork of the salmon river or fly fish in the dreage ponds.. Or soak in the natural hot springs . Raft the world famous salmon river- 'river of no return'. Hunt for big game. Deer, elk, moose, bear, mountain lion we have them all.. Watch the fox play in the front yard. Visit the ghost towns of custer and bonaza just 3 miles up the road. See the yankee fork dreage and learn how gold was found in days gone by. Or just watch the bald eagles fight over the steel head in the ponds. Or better yet fish for those very same steelhead or salmon that return every year. Or the rainbow trout. Visit one of the 300 alpine lakes in the snra just south on highway 75. Or see the sun rise on the sawtooth mountains.
