Main level and loft, 4 beds, 10 ft ceilings, open concept, fabulous views
I grew up in Cape Dauphin every summer and now my kids spend every summer. I live in Ottawa but love Cape Breton, it is a very happy place.
Richard purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Richard chose Cape Dauphin
Land was passed down from family and beach house and main cottage were built. The property has spectacular views of the ocean and bird islands. A piece of heaven.

Lovely Quiet Beach House
Property was exactly like described. A very cute beach house with a beautiful view.
This location gives you a beautiful, scenic view of the water from the living room/kitchen, deck, and 2nd floor loft. It has access to a small beach. The house is new, has lots of natural light and makes the best use of a relatively compact space. It's worth noting that access to the loft is more like a ladder than stairs, but it has its own half bath. Access to groceries and gas are 20 - 30 minutes from this location, but it's worth the drive.
Great waterfront location
We had a fabulous time staying at Richard’s cute cottage in Cape Dauphin. The house is located several miles down a gravel road, so it feels quiet and somewhat remote. It is perched on a hill overlooking both the ocean and a fresh-water pond, with easy access down to the beach. We loved exploring the beach and were endlessly entertained by the myriad of animal activities on the pond. There were geese, ducks, beavers, seagulls, deer, foxes, and even an eagle. The house is on the small side, but suited our family of four just fine. We loved our stay in Cape Dauphin and would happily stay at this house again.
It’s a wonderful place. Highly recommend it.
The cottage is perched on a hill with a rocky beach just a short walk away. There is a neighboring rental cottage nearby, but it was very quiet and private. It was sparkling clean and the cottage had everything we needed. The sunsets were gorgeous and cottage was very comfortable. We had a lovely stay and would come back in an instant!
Off the beaten path....
Very much enjoyed our visit at this sparkling new beach house. Richard was very easy to work with, relaxed and at the ready. The shared space (we were 4) is cozy but as others have mentioned the view is exceptional. There is a short mown path to the beach and long walks call you either there or on the quiet road behind the cottage. Gorgeous spot in the fall.
