Angel & John LeSage
About Angel & John LeSage
John and Angel have lived in Sutter Creek for 38 years. John has a wood manufacturing business in town where he makes fine furniture, entertainment centers, & kitchens. For 30 years we have lived 3 miles out of town where we raised our daughter. Sutter Creek is small enough that everyone knows each other; we find it to be a wonderful place to live and visit.
Angel & John LeSage purchased this Cottage in 2011
Why Angel & John LeSage chose Sutter Creek
The original owner Enola Scott had lived in the house for ~50 years and moved out in 2009 at the age of 100. We named the cottage after Enola --- as she was well known in town --- running an antique business out of the garage and drove around town in her green VW.

Enolas cottage was the perfect getaway for my Moms birthday. The house was only a few houses down from Main Street Sutter where we could walk to all the shops, restaurants and wine bars. The house itself had everything and my Mom and Grandma kept saying just feels like home. Charming lovely place perfect for the 3 of us. There were a few steps to go up and down but handles throughout the house helped my 91 Grandma navigate and move around the house. Loved it! We’lll be back
Place was fine, owner was rude
House was fine, owner was difficult
Very clean, well stocked cottage. The only thing I didn’t like is the driveway. It is a steep two track and you have to be careful because it is a blind driveway with traffic approaching around a bend.
Squeaky clean little cottage, close to everything.
1940s style cottage, updated with all the important things. Perfect for a short stay in this historic, fun town. Walk to either end of town easily. Enjoyed the Farmers Market on Saturday and wine tasting at several tasting rooms. The glass blowing studio directly across the street should not be missed.
Enola's Cottage is warm & welcoming as are the owners. Clean and well appointed to make you feel at home.
Sutter Creek known as the Jewel of the Motherlode is a small rural town with historic buildings that were built in the 1860’s during the peek of the gold rush. It is fun to stroll through town with antique shopping, an ice cream parlor, and wine tasting lounges, a cheese store, a chocolate store and several restaurants and bars. All this is available with just a short walk from the cottage and no designated driver needed for in town known for wine tasting.
If you are up for a wine tasting adventure just a short 15-minute drive to Shenandoah Valley (known for its rich red wines) will have a selection of over 20 winery’s to visit. If you are into skiing Kirkwood is a 70-minute drive up highway 88. Fishing is available at Lake Pardee, Mokelumne River, Silver Lake and Caples Lake. Or if you are in a kick back mood Sutter Creek is the place for a relaxing weekend.
