When I first got to the apartment I was very excited, it looked super cute and cozy but then I realized I was wrong. In the details of the apartment it mentions a microwave, I was staying here for a week while my apartment got renovated, bought so many frozen dinners to make quickly for myself and there was not a microwave in the apartment. The pictures show a TV , there is no TV in the apartment. The toilet in the apartment picks and chooses when it wants to flush it’s like you’re playing some kind of game with a toilet. On top of that the apartment is in one of the worst areas of Jersey City (MLK & Forrest). Now besides all of the problems with the apartment there is a building attendee. On my first night there I woke up to a man walking into my room. The lights went out and the fuse box was in my apartment (the apartment is a furnished basement). I understand he needed to come in to do that but if I’m not opening the door because I’m sleeping no body should be allowed to walk into my room. I reached out to the owner and he apologized and said the building attendee did not know I wa s there already. Which I completely understood. The next day he knocks on my door again asking if I need extra towels. When I said no he proceeded to ask me if I was single and how beautiful I was which I found extremely uncomfortable because he was “building staff” Then a couple of days later I was woken up to someone opening the door to my apartment again. I got up to see who it was and the door was opened but not fully just a crack (as if this guy was waiting to see if I heard him coming in). I immediately reached out to the owner because at this point I was uncomfortable since I was staying alone. I never heard back from the owner of the house. I was not comfortable staying inside the house or being in the area. I do not recommend staying in this apartment and I believe VRBO should reach out to the owner about how unbelievable this experience was for me.
The place was nice
For the price, it was good. Updated amenities would be a great added feature. I like the close access to the trains and busses. The neighborhood store were friendly. The people in the area treated us wonderfully.
Excellent room in Jersey City
The room was clean and pleasantly decorated. The manager of the room is responsive, timely and pleasant.
A couple of issues - the windows lack screens so cannot open the windows and the streetlights make the room a little bright at night. Blackout curtains would be useful.
Commute to city takes about an hour.
Overall, great stay!
Welcome to Jersey City, where you can enjoy a quiet, residential atmosphere just a stone’s throw from the Big Apple. Our tranquil neighborhood is within close walking distance of a light rail station (MLK Drive), Extra Supermarket (5-minute walk), and eating options like Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s, and Carolyn’s soul food restaurant. Many restaurants in the area are available for delivery. The house also just a 20-minute drive from the Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall if you’re in the mood to do some shopping.
