About Mona Rishel-Shissler
Bryon - middle back row and me in blue - middle front row - with our kids and grandkids. We purchased Campbell Farm in 1990. For 30 years we worked as consultants and also did much of the work involved in restoring our log home, refurbishing all the out buildings including our - A Cottage at Campbell Farm. We continue to expand vegetable and flower gardens and enjoy sharing the property with all the wonder folks who return again and again to our "cottag- woodland cottage" and now, our 'glamping' site.
Mona Rishel-Shissler purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Mona Rishel-Shissler chose Fort Hill
Bryon began thinking about building the 'glamping' site many years ago when our family reunion was at a cousin's farm. My cousin Chuck and his son set up their 'trappers' tent and Bryon said, this would be a wonderful addition to our 'camping' site at the farm. Then, during the winter of 2013 or son sent us an article on "GLAMPING" and a new way to share our breautiful farm was begun. Bryon built all the structures and situated the site strategically to enjoy the great views. The setting is private and peaceful.
What makes this Cottage unique
If you want to enjoy the outdoors but aren't quite ready for camping or, have had some raining camping experiences - this site is for you. And, Bryon has been thoughtful with the placement to provide you with maximum privacy while being easily accessible.

1st time glampers
Great glamping sight with beautiful views!
Could not have been happier with our visit
We've traveled a LOT but this property is at the top of our favorites list. The location is perfect (private but amenities accessible, if needed), the view fantastic, and the owners amazing (there's nothing they haven't thought of or prepared). You can't help but relax. We intend to return annually, at minimum.
Thank you for a lovely stay!!!
This was my first “glamping” experience, but will not be my last. The owners were thorough ( an understatement) in providing for every need. From linens, to dishes, running water and electricity, the comforts of home are blended in to private, hilltop slice of nature. Nestled in fields of wildflowers, the spacious tent surrounded by woods and a spectacular view of the mountains. What’s not in sight are other people. It is a beautiful escape full of sights, sounds, and smells of the mountains. LOVED staying here.
"LOVED staying here" that is what we "love" to hear. We VERY much appreciate having guests let us and, future guests give us high marks. The "glamping" site was our son's idea and we have been happy to share this space with guest during the Spring, Summer and early FALL. There are 2 other rentals (privately situated) on our 65 acres homestead. See: vrbo.com/322410 and vrbo.com/848951. Come and see how peaceful country life can be *: - )
This was a beautiful experience that I would recommend to anyone. The location was perfect, the set-up impeccable, and the bathtub, divine! If you're on the fence, just book it. You'll be more refreshed and rejuvenated for it!
This was the perfect getaway and so close to cucumber falls!
5 Stars not enough
As the title says 5 stars is not enough. The pics on the site do not do it justice. We have traveled a lot and stayed in some great spots but this place really stands out. We arrived on a Friday and never left the property till Monday. There is a small dorm refer in the kitchen so a large ice chest is recommended . The bed is GREAT plenty of pillows, blankets more then enough towels
The sunrises are awesome the sunsets amazing . Bird feeders and houses where ever you look. Open your eyes in the A.M. and the view out the front of the tent is breath taking It is camping at it's finest.
I could go on forever but you need to see for yourself.
