Fantastic , Peaceful location
We had a great stay at this property, it is in a great location near to water activities and beautiful villages. It is in easy access of the A8 for travelling to places further afield.
The property manager was extremely friendly and very helpful with anything we needed, he also gave us some really good tips on interesting things to see and do in the area.
the property is near to a large Supermarket and to freshly baked bread and fresh produce. The local pizza man is located at the end of the road for lazy nights in, he is only there Wednesday to Sunday but well worth a visit (be prepared to wait an hour or more for your order as he is extremely busy).
The pool is nice and large and perfect for lazy days and also very welcoming to cool off in at the end of a days sightseeing. I would recommend this property and the area for a really fantastic vacation.
Comfortable and well equipped
Property has everything you need, comfortable and spacious and great amenities. Location is very good
Thank you for staying in our home. We are happy to hear that you had a wonderful time.
We look forward welcoming you back in the future should your travels bring you to the south of France.
Stay Forever - this is a home from home
Where do I start?
We have been here in 2004, 2005 and 2007 we like it that much. The house itself is large and equipped with everything you need. The garden is massive and totally enclosed if you close the gate to the road, so your kids can charge around to their hearts content in safety.
You will need a car, no ifs buts or maybes on this score because it is rurally located. If you are after the high life with lots of bars, clubs etc on your doorstep, go somewhere else unless one of you is prepared to drive to Nice.
If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful area then this is the place for you.
If you don't speak French don't worry, the owner speaks brilliant English although he will likely be out of France but unless things have changed since we were last there, the owners local representative Serge lives about 15 minutes away and can be telephoned if you do have any questions or problems and he does speak English well enough to converse with him and he is a nice guy!
The POOL, well what can I say, it is plenty big enough and very inviting being right next to the covered patio where you can dine outside at the very big patio table.
Supermarkets - there is an enormous Le Clerc's about a ten minute drive away. Be warned the French have done away with plastic bags so go equipped to carry your purchases away.
If you are into wine, well you're in France, but on the way to Le Clerc's there is a shop on the left of the road that sells its own locally produced wine straight from stainless steel vats at very attractive prices..can't remember the name but you can't miss it.
Eating out - within short car journeys you will come across typical French restaurants at the roadside.
The villa - it is a single level house aside from the bedroom nearest the pool which is accessed from the living room by three steps down if my memory is correct, but can also be accessed by a lockable door from the covered patio. This bedroom is great for kids through to teenagers and the separate shower room is accessed via this room.
The main bathroom is next to the two main bedrooms and has a bath, wash basin and toilet. There is another separate toilet adjacent to the bathroom.
And in closing....it may just be me but there is nothing more satifying than wandering around the house closing the shutters every night.........quintessentially French!!
Nice house with all equipment needed. Very nice pool area.
The mas de provence is newly refurbished : a new kitchen, a new bathroom, new bedrooms. The villa is located just five minutes drive from the hill-top village of Montauroux, 25 kilometres to the north-west of Cannes and 15 kilometres west of Grasse. It is situated at the foot of a peaceful wooded hillside with magnificent views over Lake St Cassien and the Esterel National Park, providing year round access to all the region has to offer. The Côte d’Azur resorts can be quickly reached via the A8 motorway which is 15 minutes away. It is a 30 minute drive to Cannes or Fréjus/St. Raphael, 45 minutes to Nice airport, 1 hour to Monaco and 11/2 hours to the Gorges du Verdon and St. Tropez. The area where Montauroux is located is known as the “Pays de Fayence”, Fayence being the largest local village, while the “département” is The Var, boasting some of the finest scenery Provence has to offer.
