Dan and Judy Burkitt
Why Dan and Judy Burkitt chose Kaunakakai
We discovered Molokai in 2004 between time-share stays in Kauai and the big island of Hawaii. We drove east on the coast road toward Halawa, the east end of the island. On our right were Lanai and Maui off in the distance. On our left was a beautiful mountain whose peaks were cloud covered. That's when we saw Wavecrest. We kept going to Halawa along what became a mostly one lane road through rain forest to a great swimming beach. It was a spectacular drive. On the way back, we drove into Wavecrest and saw a truly beautiful resort on the water with tall palm trees and gorgeous flowering plantings. The crest of the mountain was directly behind us. We called a realtor as soon as we returned home to Virginia.
What makes this Condo unique
We are right next door to my sister's unit. The two are ideal to rent together for a larger family or group. Her unit is VRBO listing 743960. It is also a beautifully updated and maintained unit.

Just what we were looking for
A beautiful, relaxing setting which provided everything we would need. Close enough to the town yet far enough out to provide the "get away" feeling. Don't think you could wish for a more beautiful sunrise view. Will definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to make it back to Molokai.
nice place and nice people, enjoyed the month
Nicely appointed, very comfortable. Enjoyed everything about the unit, especially the lanai overlooking beautiful gardens. I would book your place again, and will recommend it.
Thank you for sharing!
Pleasant, peaceful, relaxing
Wonderful stay at a beautiful, well appointed place overlooking the ocean. Access was easy, the patio walked out to a gorgeous courtyard, ample parking and a beautiful pool on the water. I would highly recommend.
Kalaupapa National Reserve, noted for Father Damian and Mother Marianne, both sainted, who ministered to an infamous leper colony in the 19th century. Get there by plane or by the trail down the cliffs from the overlook area. You can ride a mule down (and up) or go on foot. In addition, there is the Molokai Forest Reserve on Kamakou Mountain, and the world's highest sea cliffs. Don't miss the churches hand-built by Father Damien.
