About Laurie Carruthers
Hi! My name is Laurie and i am an 'Islander'! I moved back home 14 years ago and purchased cottages in Stanley Bridge area. I loved the area so much that when i sold my business in 2012, i decided it was time to build my Dream Home! I always loved Anne's Land. My 2 goldens, Jax and Jessie, spend a lot of time on the beautiful trails and beaches out here. Since i built this home, it brings me so much peace. This house/area really does something wonderful to you as you will see for yourself :) I owned 3 more small businesses but decided to start a new chapter and i sold my businesses and became a real estate deveoper. I With my business background especially in accommodations; along with being a Islander, born and raised, and being a tour guide, i can help make your experience here on PEI an unforgettable one!

Why Laurie Carruthers chose French River
The view and the privacy of this property is unique. No neighbors, which means you can have fun and/or romantic days and evenings and not worry about seeing a single soul. We are close to all attractions ,beaches., restaurants, seafood and more!
What makes this House unique
You can walk along the shore when the tide is out to the Sou'West bar and Grill They offer great food and local entertainment. Just down the old heritage road, you can find a popular restaurant called the Kitchen Witch. On the way to the kitchen witch you can veer off the dirt road to a beautiful trail in the woods. We are located on a private lot with no neighbors so you have complete privacy to enjoy your hot tub, campfire pit and gorgeous views of rolling meadows and red cliffs. You can get oysters from the local fisherman directly off the boat and canoe the surrounding wide river . This property has breathtaking views. You can see the eagles, osprey and herons fly right by your large windows. It's an amazing sight! The tranquility of this sanctuary will change you!

Peacefulness and Privacy
Ultimate in a relaxing vacation home. We were a family of 4 (children aged 9 and 12) plus grandma. We spent 3 nights at the property just after Thanksgiving. Everyone had so much room and everything was so clean, bright and peaceful. Laurie was never more than a text message away, reliable, easy to deal with and generous with her time. Bring groceries if you are arriving late because the peacefulness of this home also means you have a 15-20 minute drive to a grocery store or restaurant. We ate at Brothers 2 in Summerside, the Brickhouse in Charlottetown and By the Bay in North Rustico. The beds were so comfortable, the bathrooms were spotless, and the grounds were so well kept. If you have curious kids, the exploration opportunities are limitless. From wading along the shoreline, to climbing the red sand beaches, to flying a lobster kite, to canoeing the river, just make sure you bring rubber boots and splash pants so nothing gets in their way of the surprises they will find. We enjoyed the large property's incredible privacy, the indoor and outdoor speaker system which easily hooked up to Spotify, late night Netflix and the impeccable decorations and wall art throughout the home. The sunsets from the property were gorgeous, as were the mornings. The entire back wall of the home is windows. There was nothing like waking up to coffee, a blanket and staring out at the water. Anne of Green Gables is about 20 minutes away and we enjoyed walking the trails attached to Green Gables. We would definitely recommend this home and its owner and hope to one day return.
Thank you Julie! Yes off season can be tough to find a wide variety of restaurants. In the off season, Kensington being 12 minutes away has 2 nice restaurants, pizza and subway amd groceries. Cavendish at 15 min away only has attractions, but another 10min drive you can find By the Bay and Island Preserve Company.. Summerside 20 min away has the big box stores and lots of restaurants. All of these restaurants are in the binder for future reference. It was so great to meet all of you and glad you enjoyed my Paradise!!
5 Star all the way...
If you're looking for a great place to stay and a wonderful host, this is the place for you. Exactly as described. A little piece of paradise. Laurie was a pleasure to deal with too - from her quick response time to her fantastic recommendations. We couldn't have asked for a better place.
Location & View
Pros: View, Location, Proximity to all things “Anne”, Comfortable Beds, Condition of property, Responsive Owner
Cons: Under equipped kitchen, all bedrooms except master are a little sparse (one has no closet), little space for setting things. Living area not conducive to “together time”.
Summary: A luxury property, good for a family. Not so good for couples traveling as equals due to the great disparity between the Master and other bedrooms. It looks better than it lives. That having been said, it is amazing what a view makes up for.
I haven't had anyone ever comment on these areas so thank u for that. I appreciate all suggestions. My goal is to provide an amazing experience for all my guests! I know you mentioned you wanting to come back so...the list you gave me for the kitchen is already bought..actually everything is in there now except for the 6 matching melamine dishes you mentioned. I was never much of a cook and most especially not a baker, but we doubled up on those baking items you suggested as well. Bedroons..I guess its time for a wardrobe in that one room. I think that is a great suggestion. Each room has 2 large end tables, a dresser, bed and closet and 2 rooms have chairs and the master has a large 55 inch TV. Not really sure we have room for anything else so not sure what I could do there. :) Its nice to have some floor space. And as for the rooms being far apart....l specifically designed the home so that all rooms were far from one another for privacy. Livingroom.. the 2 couches seat 3 and only have 1 comfy chair..I should have told you, you could take the comfy leather recliner out of the queen bedroom into the livingroom to give you seating for 8. I will mention this to the guests from now on.. Thanks again for the suggestions..they really are appreciated!
Family vacation to PEI
Had a wonderful stay in PEI at this wonderful house. The home was very clean on arrival. The location is very private and surrounded by nature/wildlife. There was lots of space for our kids to run around and explore. The central location allowed us easy day trips to many locations around the island. The beds were very comfortable to sleep on after a sun-soaked day. Would stay again.
A great place to send some peaceful time.
Absolutely Beautiful. Perfect in every way
This was our first visit to Prince Edward Island and it was fantastic. My wife and I and our adult children shared this beautiful place for a week and loved it. Upon arrival we found the house spotless, and very accommodating. The kitchen was well equipped, which is important since we are all foodies. The decorations and appointments were beautiful. The location is fantastic, easily driveable to all the sights and attractions you will want to see. We love seafood, and we were able to buy oysters right in the back yard from a local fisherman. Local fresh caught lobster, mussels clams etc are available close buy. I can’t say enough good things about this place, we truly loved it.
