About Rod and Sandy Loucks
Sandy and Rod are Wisconsin natives. Like most people with busy, hectic lives, they enjoy a quiet get-away once in a while. Out of all the choices they had for a vacation home, this was the perfect one. The quality speaks for itself.
Rod and Sandy Loucks purchased this House in 2014
Why Rod and Sandy Loucks chose Soldiers Grove
Situated in one of the most beautiful areas in the Midwest, this house offers the best of all worlds. The house was built with guests in mind, as part of a Bed and Breakfast, The Inn at Lonesome Hollow. The Inn has received numerous accolades and awards for quality and service, and is very highly rated. It received the 2013 “Certificate of Excellence Award”. This is awarded to lodging businesses worldwide that rank in the top 10% for traveler feedback. The Inn is also part of the Travel Green Wisconsin collection of eco-friendly lodging businesses.
What makes this House unique
Very plush, very clean & comfortable, very secluded and quiet, yet easy to get to and very close to many local activities and amenities in the Kickapoo Valley and Driftless area of Wisconsin - fishing, hunting, birding, hiking, orchards, vineyards, organic and sustainable businesses. The only noise you will hear is that of the birds outside.

Yes, indeed a little piece of heaven in God's country!
This property is exactly as described in the listing. It is incredibly clean and beautifully decorated. Beds are very comfortable and the space accommodates 4 couples perfectly. The owner seems to have predicted our every need, answered every question we might have with the amazing organization. We loved being able to use the grill to
BBQ and sit around the firepit for a nice campfire. Literature about the history of the Homestead was interesting to read. We loved having information about things to do and places to go in the area. Our early fall rainy weekend was a bit limiting for our outdoor activities, but we enjoyed the area nevertheless. We hope to return again next year to do more hiking and canoeing the beautiful rivers. This is a wonderful place to come and relax!
Beautiful home, well maintained and in a good location for riding motorcycles.
Perfect place for our girls weekend
I live in Minneapolis and met four of my high school friends (Class of '77!) from Illinois -- this location was just above halfway for all of us. And it was perfect for a weekend of catching up, eating good food, going for runs, and walking for miles on the country roads and trails.
The home is spotless and spacious -- it had everything we needed. The setting is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. We wished it had cooled off at night so we could have used the wonderful fire pit!
Rod and Sandy were very helpful and responded immediately to my questions both prior to checking in and after. Wonderful hosts. I can understand why this property gets great ratings: everything from the super comfy beds to the thick plush towels make this a perfect getaway.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Lovely Country Setting for a Peaceful Get Away
This was the cleanest house I have ever rented! Beautiful setting with a well equipped house! Great fire pit, awesome star gazing, so peaceful and lovely! Great set up for 4 couples! We will be back!
Everyone enjoyed the house. Lots of conversation, playing games, and enjoyed the outdoors even with the wind. Definitely will be back!
Beautiful house, and even more beautiful view
Lovely place, we got lucky and got a snow storm, so we got to do some cross country skiing around the beautiful property. The kids did some sledding down the hills as well. It is a great place to stay.
