About Dennis and Deanna Kuder
Dennis and Deanna Kuder are an ordained United Methodist Clergy (Retired) and retired teacher/non-profit foundation director (Retired). We have enjoyed coming to Lake City and sharing our home with many others through the years...helping others build memories of their own! We have tried to make this a warm and inviting place that is as comfortable as home for our guests, and in 2014 we began a total remodel of the interior so our guests will enjoy a like new experience. We want to provide a place to enjoy the beautiful mountains in a safe, comfortable environment without the highest prices that make it unaffordable for the average family. We encourage those who often are on a tight budget to come share our home and get a chance to enjoy the beauty we have so long enjoyed. As we have both recently retired we also are looking for a new younger family to pass on this dream to, so if you are looking for an excellent investment property with the luxury of having the opportunity for family vacations, too, this might be the right place for you! Come for a visit to try it out or give us a call to discuss the potential.
Dennis and Deanna Kuder purchased this House in 1977
Why Dennis and Deanna Kuder chose Lake City
We purchased this property when our sons were 6 and 10 and have watched them enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. We found the location to be ideal for all our interests and a joy to share with others through the years. We have had so many wonderful thank you letters from our loyal renters who return year after year to vacation in the moutains and escape the heat of the city and the fast-paced world that just isn't in Lake City! Buying this property was the very best thing we ever did, and it has brought such joy to our lives. Aging family members and grandchildren in other places is causing us to look at passing on the joy we have known to others so we can share that bond with the next generation of Lake City lovers!
What makes this House unique
Hiking, fishing, boating, Jeeping, ATV trails, mining history, beautiful views and watching the aspens turn to golden are some of the wonderfilled memories we hold dear. And there is nothing more beautiful than Christmas in LC! The 4th of July celebration brings lots of old-timers to town, and the festivals are great...year round activities are planned for tourists and locals alike, and the folks that reside in LC share a special bond that is so obvious even to the part-time resident or vacationer. Life-long friends will be found from visits here, but they may be from many other states! 'Meet Me In LC' is common on the Christmas Cards each year!

Our home away from home
We feel like the Kuders are family- they have such a beautiful home and it is our privilege to be their guests. The home is well appointed with an updated kitchen (we love to cook on vacation) and the best view in town. This home allows our family to.reconnect and revive.
Wonderful mountain home. Communication with the owners was extremely easy and quick. House is exactly as advertised. Can’t wait until next year.
Clean & Quiet Cabin with a View of Roundtop Mountain
This nice and neat house is in a good, quiet location on a hillside above Lake City. It's an easy place to get to and convenient to town. It was clean and everything was in working order. There are two bedrooms and bathrooms: the master bedroom and a small bedroom at the opposite side of the house. There is also a very small room with a futon that could be used as a bedroom.
Liz, we're so happy you had a great time and enjoyed your stay. We hope you will consider returning very soon!

On Golden Road
This property had everything you could ask of a vacation cabin in Lake City. Absolutely best view of Mountains from very nice deck with swing and bench. The owners have supplied the cabin with just exactly the things we would have if we owned the cabin ourselves. Great cabin. We had a great time.
Perfect Lake City Cabin
Cant recommend this place enough! The cabin is perfectly situated on the north end of town, allowing easy access to all of Lake City's conveniences; yet, is secluded enough to enjoy the breathtaking surroundings without interruption. The cabin is very clean and well-stocked with all the necessary amenities. The owners, Dennis and Deanna, have done a very good job renovating the property, while keeping the authentic "cabin-feel" intact. They were also highly responsive and a good resource for things to do/see during our stay. If you're looking for an authentic Lake City experience, you cant go wrong with this property.
Five stars out of five stars!
We have stayed with the Kuder's for three years now. Each time has been better than the last. Kitchen and bath well-appointed. WiFi is perfect. View is outstanding. Living conditions just wonderful. We will be making it four years by next year. Would highly recommend the Kuder's home for a relaxing, fun time in Lake City. Could not have been more perfect for us. Three weeks in heaven.
Thanks, Suzanne! We're so happy you had a great time and super excited to have you back again next year!
Lake City is a great place for the outdoors loving persons and those who want to get away from the busy life of the city. Activities and highlights include: ATV/4-Wheeling, Lake San Cristobol, Blue Mesa Reservoir, Lake Fork of Gunnison River, Trout Fishing, Fly and Bait Fishing, wonderful mining history and interesting ghost towns, Lake City on Historical Record and on Alpine Loop/Silver Thread Scenic Byway. One could visit for a month each year and still not see all there is to see, and each season has much to offer. Come visit in spring, summer and fall...On Golden Road is generally closed for the winter from mid-November through mid March. Call for additional details.
