House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)
Hi, I am Mark. I love to travel just like you probably do. I feel so lucky and blessed to own this beautiful home and even luckier to get to share it with you. I am involved in real estate (own and rent long and short term rentals) and my main role is as a handy man. Its a good thing that I am so handy and love to fix things and paint! My favorite thing is getting to stay at the cabin after some guests have left and reading all the kind, and amazing comments left in the guest book. It feels really good to know that I have brought a little joy and happiness to others!!
Mark purchased this House in 2008
Why Mark chose Dawsonville
Big Canoe really is such a beautiful place. Its the perfect combination of privacy and nature, but at the same time you won't feel like you are in the middle of the woods all alone. There is so much to do from fishing, swimming, canoeing, golfing, and my two favorites..hiking and eating out.
What makes this House unique
What really made me fall in love with Stargazer Lodge was the amazing Great Room and Kitchen! I love fixing dinner, while looking out over our great room. What really puts this room over the top for me is the amazing bay windows and view of the North Georgia Mountains! Sitting on our back deck eating dinner, really makes me appreciate the calm and serenity of the Mountains. The view during the day is amazing, and I love sitting with my friends and family around this table. If it's getting too sunny, we'll often move to our screened porch for cushioned seating, where you can still have a great view of the Mountains. At night, the views of the stars are amazing. I love opening the hot tub, and looking up at the stars while taking a nice relaxing dip. My friends and I love going upstairs to the den for movie night. We love cinema, and keep a ton of DVD's at our homes. We even started showing Netflix due to popular demand, and it's great too! We have a really comfortable sectional sofa that everyone relaxes on, and it really makes a nice touch to a wonderful day hiking, canoeing, and swimming.

Wonderful vacation home
Very nice home. Loved the open floor plan, the fireplace, and all of the available entertainment.
Perfect mountain retreat
Highly recommend this mountain home for your next rental. Mark is a great host. The check in process was very easy. The house exceeded our expectations. No detail was overlooked. Kitchen was fully stocked, bedding was cozy, great loft space, fun game room basement and comfy patio furniture. The listing didn’t mention the pinball machine, so that was a wonderful surprise for us!
We had a memorable weekend with out of town guests. Would definitely rent from Mark again.
This was a great property to relax and regenerate. Three nice bedrooms with King beds and private baths. Great couples weekend.
We had a wonderful time. House was perfect and big canoe was beautiful.
Top-notch property and top-notch host
You won't be disappointed - the house is awesome, packed with amenities needed to make you comfortable from the moment you walk through the door. Great location and view. The host is also accommodating and highly responsive.
We enjoyed our getaway at this home! Kitchen well outfitted. Beds extremely comfortable. Trees were in full foliage but view was still nice. Hiking trails and pools were very nice. Navigating through Big Canoe takes a little getting use to. Just put your car in a low gear and go! All in all a wonderful trip. Especially loved the DVDs at night. Fun trip back 10 years when you got to shop for just the movie you wanted to see that night.
Whenever I go stay at the cabins in Big Canoe, I'm always taken by the peace and serenity of the North Georgia mountains. It always makes me feel at ease to hear the churning and splashing of the waterfall at Shooting Star Falls, and I'm always left breathless looking out over the mountains while at Stargazer Lodge.
