Charming historic home right in the middle of everything
We loved our stay in Casa De Flores! Communication was great and we arrived for our Christmas week stay to a warm and inviting home. It a historic home, with requisite odd angles, but had all the modern amenities and was very clean and really well kept. The layout was fantastic; if you can't tell from the pictures, think of a 'U'. You enter to the living room at the base of the U and one side is the bedroom and the other is the kitchen/laundry/bathroom. (In the exterior pictures, there's a door off the bedroom and one off the kitchen-- yes, three doors, a convenient quick for an old house.) My family of four felt like we had plenty of space and the separation allowed for banging around in the kitchen early without disturbing those still sleeping.
The location is fantastic, just a few steps to Taos Square and Bent St shops. Area ski resorts are less than an hour drive away. Our big SUV didn't fit into the spot, but we parked parallel to the street across the driveway and that worked best. A few people across the street parked perpendicular to the street had trouble getting out because Ledoux is very narrow.
The front courtyard was a great bonus space that let our dog roam a bit, while still being behind a short wall and gate. We had to walk a bit to find a place she could do her business, but Taos is generally very dog friendly.
The wifi worked well enough for streaming. We brought our own to watch movies at night. If you have teenagers with lots of devices, it might be a bit slow. All the more reason to put down the phone and enjoy vacation.
We would love to come again during the summer. Our winter trip was great and I definitely recommend this property.
Beauty, comfort, location
Casa de Flores is easily the most beautiful vacation rental we’ve ever booked. It is artistically furnished in a tasteful Southwest style.
It is also very comfortable, with soft seating, large screen TVs, and a good bed. The kitchen is exceptional, with plenty of cookware, modern appliances, and utensils. The dinnerware is a generous set of brilliantly colored Fiesta ware. There are even some basic staples - sugar, cornmeal, mustard, etc. available.
It is hard to beat its location. The famed Plaza is 3 short blocks away and Smith’s, a large grocery, is also nearby.
What a wonderful stay!
Perfect for couple getaway
This lovely casita exceeded our expectations in every way. Feels like home. Beautiful kitchen, roomy master bedroom with adjoining office and computer room so nice.
Very nice property and location
Perfect stay in Taos
We loved the charm of this property. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. The garden in the courtyard was in full bloom. The location is ideal-we walked everywhere. Would definitely recommend to friends/family and hope to stay there again!
Absolutely loved everything about it.
First impressions are important. I start this review on our first evening here, so that I can’t forget them.
Helen met us at the gate, and was very friendly. Then she just “vanished” and left us to get settled. Coming through the front door was like walking into the southwest. The casita seems much roomier then the pictures look, and is very inviting. There is even a list of “100 Things to Do in Taos” typed up with helpful hints included.
Everything was immaculate, and as we unpacked, we noticed that this unit was amazingly well stocked! The kitchen has all the spices you would use at home, even red wine vinegar, vanilla, cornstarch and corn meal! There was plenty of coffee and filters.
If you bring a pet, bring poo bags and plan to take walks, as there is no place on site for them to do their business. However, a walk around the block will provide opportunities for them.
We had the best time here. Owners left details, pointers and tips that were so helpful. Helen was amazing, and very responsive. We can not think of anything to complain about!
