Villa handed down by parents. High affective meaning. I spent unforgettable moments in this villa.
What makes this Villa unique
It has got a unique view. It is surrounded by greenery and it has a considerable extension of land that surrounds it (2,000 sq m :). In front of the patio there is a well-kept lawn with exotic plants and palm trees and a beautiful private pool.

Not as we expected.
The location of the property is high up a mountain with hair-pin bends with no street lighting, even as an experienced driver this was quite treacherous, however the views were spectacular. There was additional charges once we arrive which was personal taxes. There was no mention prior to arrival that you could not put toilet paper in the toilet, the smell of drains in the bathrooms was overpowering. There was lights not working, we changed the bulb ourselves in the kitchen to find it was the fitting not the bulb. The back bathroom had the plug in the sink not working and had to use a knife to lift it to drain the water, the window would not close and we had to call the owner in to close it.
There are lots of wires in extension leads, which is not good if you have children. The kettle and toaster again was in an extension lead and both had to be turned off manually as they did not automatically turn off. We had some storms, which we then had leaks in the roof, one of the beds had to be moved as the mattress was getting very wet, the owner came when we told him and he put bowls out to catch the water, he was quiet apologetic when he saw the leaks. Also the windows in the lounge was very drafty and let in water when it rained.
The owner lives directly opposite with access through a door next to the pool, they seem to enter the property without your knowledge as we found light on when we returned in the evening, and windows open. You do have to pay extra for any electric used during your stay. Be aware that there are feral cats around the property, so you are unable to leave doors or windows open. The owner also expects you to recycle rubbish, but to also put different bins out daily for the collection, I have NEVER had to put any rubbish out at any property I have rented especially when paying a cleaning fee. I am not sure what the cleaning fee is for, as we went to use the coffee maker and it had stale coffee still in the filter, therefore would not use it.
Unfortunately, had I had seen this kind of review, I would not have entertained this property.
Great villa, location and the host was very helpful. Highly recommend
Great villa, location and the host was very helpful. Highly recommend, the pool and outside area was perfect 👌🏽
Our family had a lovely week in Sicily. The house was a great base to experience both the historical and nature sights in the area and then return back to the bbq, pool and terrace . Very quiet and peaceful spot.
Thank you, you have been wonderful guests.
Lovely villa in a great location.
We had a fantastic holiday here, the villa was lovely and very well equipped with air conditioning in each room. The swimming pool was perfect for our three children aged 10, 8 & 3. This has been the first holiday we could truly relax with the children by a swimming pool. The villa is in a great location with Avola only 15mins drive away. It had a lovely beach (Pantanello) and it was here we spent our time when not by the pool as we were very lucky with the weather! In Avola there is plenty of choice for eating out in the evenings and a couple of supermarkets. The owner and his family were very helpful and when we arrived in Sicily they met us in Avola, showed us to a supermarket & waited for us to do our shopping before we followed them up the mountain to the villa. I would definitely recommend this villa and location and we will certainly be returning!
This is a well situated property with beautiful views and gardens
We had a lovely week in May in the villa with my parents. It's well equipped and has a lovely pool and gardens. It's secluded and highly recommend
Lovely, very comfortable villa tucked away in the hills
We had an excellent week staying at Ignazio's lovely villa. The house is perfect for visiting the south eastern corner of Sicily. Our week was packed with activities - highlights were a couple of visits to beautiful Syracuse, walking in the Cava Grande di Cassibile gorge just five minutes from the house, birdwatching in Vendicari and a couple of other local nature reserves, a trip to Noto, and a visit to the necropolis at Pantalica, which was a bit of a drive but absolutely worth it. The house was ideal for the four of us (two adults and two children). It's beautifully decorated and well equipped, with plenty of space of lots of very welcome practical touches - some lilos for the pool, loads of comfortable seating outside, facilities to wash clothes and hang them to dry etc.
We visited in early April and wondered if it was worth having a house with a pool - but although the water was a bit chilly for us, the kids had brought their wetsuits and absolutely loved it. If we'd visited later in the summer we would have made even more use of the lovely outside space, which is beautifully lit in the evenings. The house is quite cool - ideal for summer, but at this time of year, pack jumpers and socks if you don't want to put the heating on!
We had a lovely meal at the agriturismo, but otherwise ate in (there's a Lidl just down the road, but the Interspar slightly further away is worth the drive - much nicer!). As others have said, it's essential to have a car here - and you soon get used to the bendy drive up to the house - we found it took about 15 minutes down to the main road.
Thanks for a lovely holiday, and we would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking to stay in this area.
Cara Catherina, é stato un piacere averti ospite nella nostra villa. Siete stati gentili, ordinati e puliti. Consigliamo vivamente agli altri proprietari la tua famiglia.
For those who want to reach Sicily by air the nearest airport is the airport of Catania Fontanarossa International, which is 70 km from Avola. Another stop is located in Sicily at Palermo, which is the airport at Punta Raisi, about 250 km in both airports there is the possibility of renting a car or take a bus to reach the goal. If you want to reach Sicily by boat you can start from Genoa, Livorno and Civitavecchia to Palermo with landing (they are fast ships). If you picked up in Naples is landing in Catania and the vessels of the TTT Lines. If you picked up in Salerno disembark at Messina (a 2 hours drive from Avola). By car from Messina or Palermo reach Avola along the motorway Catania-Messina and Palermo-Catania. Arrived in Catania it must take the SS 114 and follow the signs to Syracuse and continuing until at Avola. Here you will find owners that will take you to your home.
