Wonderful Christmas Holiday
We stayed at this delightful property for 12 days over Christmas and New Years. It was a spacious, beautiful home with everything we needed including a wonderful cook and maid and laundry service. We had breakfast and dinner prepared for us most days and everything was delicious.
Our host took us on two day trips which we thoroughly enjoyed and probably we would not have known about these places without him.
I would return to San MIguel de Allende again and certainly stay at this property. The location is very good for walking everywhere and we felt very safe.
An unforgettable stay
From the moment our plane landed, we had the services of a Chauffer, tour guide, porter, shopper, cook, mixologist, maid, launderer and almost anything else we could think of?
The home alone was impressive. The large windows allowed for a good level of light during the day. The beautiful details of wrought iron tiles, and a creatively decorated eclectic house made for an upscale comforting environment.
This home and all the amenities provided is a unique experience, and the best I’ve had after many VRBO experiences. Highly recommended!
Wow, what an amazing property and host!!
This property was absolutely perfect for our party of 5 - two couples and a solo traveler. The two bedrooms in the house were perfect and our solo friend had his own little casita within mere steps. Jack was kind enough to provide transportation for us to and from the airport and walked us around town the first day to get us acquainted with the area. Delores is a fantastic cook and we utilized her for breakfast every chance we could get. One night she made an excellent enchilada dinner and set up the formal dining table so we could have a couple of other friends over who happened to be staying close by. Jack is a very gracious and knowledgeable host and made our stay that much more enjoyable for us. We felt very comfortable and welcomed and taken care of, we would definitely stay here again!
Every review is spot on. If I could give more than five I would. This house is more than a place to stay. It is an experience. Jack, Delores,Blanca, prescious(the dog), pumpkin(the cat). Etc. you feel at home from minute one. One advice. COME AND SEE THIS VILLA. Absolutely the perfect vacation in a marvelous city.
Breathtaking stay in San Miguel de Allende
The home was perfect for our time in Mexico, SMA is a place we have fallen in love with. Our Host was gracious and took the time to take us the the best spokes and point out the history so we could get to know SME he took on on day trips to the surrounding towns, which we very much enjoyed. This home was perfect for us we had two teenage boys who used the adjacent bedroom they enjoyed staying up late watching moving and felt like that had their own space., the primary house was very spacious we loved the layout. The kind cook was perfect, she had the experience to prepare excellent meals for us and went above and beyond. The house was immaculate and I felt the love for the home and its beautiful gardens. I will return there is so much more to experience.
"I feel like a Spanish Contessa"
These were my wife's first words after our host Jack showed us around our living quarters. The VRBO photos are fine, but do not convey the astonishing beauty of the place. We had originally planned to stay only a few days, but Jack said most people find you need 10 days to do it justice. We stayed 10 days. He was right!
What made this trip so unique for us was the personal service we received. Our host picked us up at the airport and took us back to the airport. Although an American by birth, he has lived in Mexico over 40 years and is totally bilingual. He took us on tours in San Miguel and several surrounding towns and areas. He took me kayaking in a close-by lake. His cook Dolores and housekeeper Blanca were warm and friendly. The menu choices were many. We followed Jack's recommendations most of the time.
My wife is a prolific amateur artist, looking to learn more. The art scene there fascinated her. I was more interested in the history and culture. We went on home tours and walking historical tours. Jack took us on some, and recommended others. There is certainly some truth in one You Tube video we watched pre-trip which described San Miguel de Allende as the "Paris of Mexico". We encourage you to have Jack take you to the near-by city of Guanajuato. See the Diego Rivera Museum, and the hacienda outside the city built in the 1600's by the Spaniards.
It is also a perfect place to relax and recuperate from the fast-paced life many of us lead. The 6,500' mountainous altitude makes for low humidity and cool days and nights. What says it all is that this is the only trip we have taken that we were not ready to leave when it was time to go.
