Harshman family vacation 2019
We enjoyed our family vacation the property worked very well for us and it was super close to the boat ramp 😁👍
Great Vacation Spot for a big family
There was plenty of room and everyone Loved the Lake an House. The owners were great! Would definitely stay there again!
Great time for our family. House needs some repairs in the bathrooms. But that didn't stop us from having a great time.
We chose Turtle Cove for a family vacation with ages ranging from 2 to 60. This property was perfect. The setting is absolutely beautiful. There were 13 of us in total, and we didn't feel cramped at all. Between the main house, the large deck, the barn house, and the dock, there was plenty of room to spread out. The water is quite warm on the private side, but it's perfect for kayaking or canoeing. We brought our own kayaks, but the row boat, canoe, and paddle boat were nice amenities to have. The kitchen is stocked with a microwave, drip coffee maker, along with pots and pens, dishes, and utensils. There is a Food Lion, a dollar store, a pizza place, and a few others right around the corner. The owners are wonderful to work with. Our family really enjoyed our week away and would highly recommend Turtle Cove.
Very nice lake house on Lake Anna. We really enjoyed our week here. There were 6 kids in our family group and they loved playing on the dock and with the kayaks and paddle boat. There was also a nice swing set/slide for the kids. They also loved the pool table and air hockey games in the playroom. There were board games and DVD’s available in the house. That was a nice touch.
Depending on the size/ages of the kids, I think the futon bed in the barn can really only sleep 1 person, not two. So that makes the total only 13 instead of 14. The description of the property should state that the other bed is the sleeper sofa in the living room, but that was fine for us.
Very close to several historical sites for a nice day excursion. We had a great week!
BEST VACATION RENTAL EVER!!!!!!
Turtle Cove was the best vacation rental we enjoyed since we began renting over 30 years ago. The house has an open concept and spacious great room that adjoins the dining room and connects to the kitchen. The kitchen isn't huge but was well appointed and included adequate storage and a laundry.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for our family. The king bed upgrade in the master was a very pleasant surprise after we booked last year. My grandkids enjoyed having their own bunk room to play.
The barn is an outstanding amenity. The upstairs bedroom was ideal for my adult daughter who is a light sleeper. It gave her the quiet she needed. The recreation room is well equipped. The pool table, dart board, and foosball table were fun. We even had ample room for us to set up our portable corn-hole to play on hot and stormy afternoons.
The natural setting of the yard was beautiful and our grandkids had fun on the playset.
The path down to the water is very pleasant. The dock and boathouse provided us hours of fun. The lake was spa temperature but it felt good and the grandkids never got cold while swimming for hours. We also fished and the kids caught close to 40 small fish, that we released, but they had fun with the catching. The paddle boat and row boat provided us the opportunity to get away from the shore and truly enjoy the beauty of the lake.
We had two campfires, lit sparklers, and made s'mores in the fire pit next to the lake which was a big hit for all of us.
The huge deck and grill made our family vacation on the 4th of July 2019 truly memorable.
At the end of the week no one wanted to go home. We had such a good time that two of my four grandkids cried as we were packing to leave.
All in all, this was this was the best family vacation we have had together. My wife and I have four adult children (three married) and four grandkids and we found ways to make Turtle Cove accommodate us all. It was truly memorable and exceptional. Thank you!!
At Turtle Cove, there is lots to do! Take your boat out for the day, swim, fish or just enjoy reading a book by the water. The home has a canoe and rowboat for visitors to use (special
waiver must be signed for access to these), and also features a horseshoe court as well as a firepit
to enjoy the evenings by the lake. Should you end up with a rainy day, enjoy the selection of
movies, books or board games. Spend the afternoon in the 'Barn' playing pool or watching your favorite DVD's. You'll always find something to do at Turtle Cove! Local channels only are offered on the TV in the house. There is no cable or WiFi access.
Charlottesville, Fredericksburg and Richmond are all within an hour drive from Turtle Cove, so take an excursion and see some local sites! Wineries and breweries are also a fun way to spend an afternoon in the area.
