Nice place and location. Lake Naomi ammenities come at a premium price. Lots to do outside of Naomi
Clean place. Owner very responsive. Neighbors are close. Property not perfect but price is not for a perfectly manicured place. We saw 3 bear cubs and mom, lots of deer, and other wildlife. Kitchen small. Has pans, silverware, plates, and basic appliances. Everything you would expect. May want to bring a couple extra "Tupperwear" containers. Lots of space to sleep. Board games, cards, poker chips, etc. Outdoor fireplace and grill. Nice deck to eat on. Lots of places to run, walk, and ride bikes. Tobyhanna beach and park 20 min drive. Swimming, fishing, boat/kayak/canoe rentals. Bushkill Falls 75 minute drive. Great to see but entrance is pricey. Trail has lots of steps. If cost over $60 for two adults and 3 children. Bring camera. Great place for picnic before or after the 2 mile hike. Bathrooms, souvenir shop, restaurant. Fishing. Would probably be a great place to fish for young kids. Claws and paws- worth the price. Can take lunch inside park. Easily spend 3 to 5 hours. If you are there the last hour they are open, you may get to see them feed animals. We watched them feed the wolves. They have a petting section, turtles, cougars, lions, giraffes, among many other animals. Raymondskill falls. Great waterfall to see. Easier hike than Bushkill. My group liked this falls better than Bushkill falls and it is free. Resica Falls. This falls is at the boys out camp. It is right off the parking area. The falls is nice. The area close to the falls is restricted due to boys out and safety issue. Shawnee General store - there is a winery and restaurant as well as a store. They serve root beer floats, have penny candy, flavored butter such as blueberry, honey, and a variety of other things. This is a cool store. Baileys Steak house - great food. Great specials before 6. Steak and salmon dishes were awesome. Wait staff was great. Very reasonably priced. Large portions. 940 golf and fun - minature golf. Nice course. Batting cages great. Also bumper cars, arcade, driving range. Kayaked Delaware River with Edge of the Woods Outfitters. Great time and awesome people. If fishing the river, expect float times to increase by a couple hours.

Nice Cabin
After reading some of the negative reviews I was hesitant about renting this cabin, however I am very glad I did. I had no issues with the owner and the cabin is exactly as described. The location is close to the slopes and water parks. Additionally, there is a cheap diner nearby where you can get bacon, eggs and pancakes for under $3! Also, I cleaned the cabin and was fully refunded. Definitely would stay here again.

Great stay
We spent three days in this quaint cabin and were pleased to find it clean and ready for our arrival. The cabin is conveniently located between two ski resorts and close to grocery stores and other retail shops. All the amenities worked (kitchen, fireplace, etc). Greg was quick and concise with communication. Overall a great stay!

Exactly what we were looking for.
My family and I had an amazing time at Greg's place, very spacious and felt right at home. The house was nicely furnished and comes with everything you could possibly need for a short get-away. We even utilized the fireplace with wood provided by Greg, it made for a very relaxing weekend. It's located in a very quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the lake and many other fun activities (hiking, casino, restaurants etc.). Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for a nice weekend or a week of fun, we will definitely be back.

Great vacation cottage by the lake
We stayed with four adults and a 2 year old child. There was plenty of space for all. We especially enjoyed that the cottage felt very homey and personalized. Even down to the card table and trunk full of board games in the loft area. The surrounding area is just beautiful, and the attractions we were looking for, like state parks, Camelback Mountain, Kalahari Waterpark, and even antique shopping, were all within a short drive. We all had a wonderful time, relaxing, and enjoying the fresh open air.

Cozy house in a great location with plenty of room
My friends and I were a group of 8 looking for a weekend retreat close to Camelback, the house was perfect. Inside was cozy and well stocked with basic supplies. It only took us about 15 minutes to get to the slopes so the location was perfect. Our group of 8 had plenty of room and there was a great living room area for everyone to hang out in. Another big plus was the hot water and plumbing were fine which can always be an issue in mountain houses. My only knock is the cleaning fee. Landlord gave us the option to clean ourselves to wave the fee which we accepted. Landlord partially charged us anyway saying they had to vacuum the rugs and clean the bathroom and kitchen even though we specifically focused on cleaning those areas since they were used a lot. I think of my sister and I as good cleaners and were surprised with his comments. In my experience for rental properties, the landlord should just always include the cleaning fee to avoid any issues since the house will never be as clean as they want. Otherwise, everything was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay.

Hot and Cold
Although everything turned out ok in the end, my experiences with the owner of this cabin created more stress around our vacation than necessary. This really surprised me because of the many great reviews. My boyfriend, our dog, and I stayed here for the week. This was a last minute booking and I was excited to find a place with so many reviews that allowed dogs. Everything with the cabin was great-- exactly as the other reviewers have stated. My biggest disappointment was learning the amenities in the community require an additional large fee. Eek! This information was not disclosed until after paying for the cabin. We found a great pubic beach at Gouldsboro State Park. But as the Poconos are huge, everything is about a 25 minute drive. For the booking fee, the owner tried to direct off VRBO and to use Pay-pal Friends and Family. By using this option you are giving up any rights to purchase protection. The owner explained that it saves him the fee by booking in this manor. Through additional emails, I felt like I was being bullied into paying cash. After our vacation was over, we received an email stating that our security deposit was being withheld because he was disappointed in the condition we left the house. In the same email he stated he was charged a fee because I booked with a credit card. Now, I admit, there was light vacuuming to be done when we left. But, we didn't even use the two bedrooms or the kitchen. So why was our deposit really withheld? Of course this was upsetting. I sent an email reminding him we paid the dog fee upfront, and nothing was broken, or out of place. And the fees occurred on his side of the booking process were agreed upon when he signed the contract with VRBO. In the end we received full refund of the security deposit. I hope some of you out there have read this long review to the end. This was a really great trip, but will forever be tainted by an owner who stressed me out because he did not want to pay his fees.

Amazing getaway
I apologize for the late review but I definitely wanted to get it in. My family had an awesome stay over spring break and this house had everything and more for us. The area itself is quiet and beautiful which is what we wanted because we live on such a busy road. You walk in to a VERY clean home and the pictures are accurate. The house is warm and cozy and its just so charming you don't feel in a rental home. There were 7 of us total and there was a ton of space for everyone. We never felt like we were in each other's way. Beds were so comfortable! The kitchen had everything we neededfor meals. All I cared about was the coffee maker. The upstairs loft was awesome! Board games and the wii were fun for the kids. My 3 year old LOVED the train set!! But don't close the trunk with the board games! My husband closed it and it locked but that wasn't a big deal for us. There were playing cards and Trivia books that we had fun playing with. Kalahari is pretty awesome and was probably only 9 minutes away. Camel back wasn't too far as well. Jim Thorpe was amazing and a definite must see. Jubilee had really good food and everyone was really friendly each time we went. Groceries weren't too far away and other places to eat. Greg responded to my emails quickly and gave me some great information on the area being we were first timers. The whole process was smooth from beginning to end. My family and I had such a great time that we will be back! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here! Thank you again for opening up your home to us!

A home away from home.
Memorial day weekend was the absolute best. We all loved the house and had an amazing time. We have two small children that loved the upstairs playroom. During our stay, we enjoyed peaceful nights in front of the outdoor fireplace. This place was very relaxing. Definitely recommend this home to everyone. The owners were very helpful and make the arrangements very simple.

Quite a disappointment
When you open the door you are hit with the smell of cigar/cigarette smoke. As non smokers this was not disclosed and quite disgusted . Being winter there was no windows that could be opened since he had all of them sealed with plastic. Since the plastic was on every window we were unable to close blinds and was awoken by the sun. Very disturbing when you are away and need not get up early to have sun glaring you at. 6 am When we booked and sent our money the contract had no mention of a cleaning fee. We cleaned the place better than we found it. The owner held back a cleaning fee. He sent his cleaners and charged us for it. Will never use VRBO again Do yourself a favor and keep looking

Second time around as good as the first!
We are repeat offenders for enjoying this warm and cozy home! Our last year's stay was really great so when an opportunity arose to get away for our anniversary we contacted Greg. As usual he was very helpful and easy to work with even with our last minute request. Again snow arrived before us but the porch was shoveled and ready to welcome us. We liked the comfort and ambiance of the home (not just a house but a home) and location was great for many activities including the Casino. It's always a plus to be able to travel with our dog who loved all the extra walks. We would definitely recommend this home nestled in a quiet neighborhood. It definitely stays on our favorites list. Thanks again Greg.

Great family retreat in the poconos.
Wife and I made a last minute reservation for three nights. My 3 year old loved the vintage wooden trainset, which made him feel right at home. There was a large train that holds the train tracks that was hand made by the owner's father that was also a hit. The 9 month played with the trainset and the Jenga wooden blocks. The heat works well and the bedrooms are cozy. Enjoyed going fishing in Lake Naomi, which is in walking distance. The owner of the rental is accomodating and good to work with.

Great Weekend Getaway
My daughter and I wanted to escape to the Poconos for a weekend away and were very lucky to find this cozy chalet with everything you could possibly need and in a great location - close to casino and outlets and great restaurants. Plan to return again - would love to see Lake Naomi in the summertime. Thanks to Greg for his quick response and making our stay here perfect even on such short notice.

I Would Definitely Stay Here Again!
My wife & I plus a few family members stayed at this house recently. The neighborhood was really nice as was the location & being so close to a bunch of different attractions. (Jubilee restaurant & bar, Camelback, hiking trails, gas stations, etc...) My wife is a neat freak so I was REALLY EXCITED when I got there & saw how clean the house was! For a 2 bedroom house the place is very spacious. The WIFI worked great as did the cable. (but who needs either of those in the Poconos!) The owner was easy to work with & responded very quickly when we were planning the trip. I would definitely stay again. No complaints. Everyone had a really good time. We are NOT party people but I will say if you are a party animal this would not be the place for you, nor would the neighborhood tolerate it. This is more of a laid back family oriented community with some retirees living there.

Great weekend getaway
I stayed at the chalet for a weekend with a few friends and it was everything we expected and more! The house was very clean and more spacious than it appeared in the pictures. Great fireplace and upstairs game room area. We came on a very icy, snowy weekend but it seemed that there would be lots of space for outdoor activities in the right season. I would highly recommend this property. We had a great time! I'd love to come back and spend time at the lake, as it looks beautiful. The Jubilee restaurant was also fantastic and right up the road. Thanks so much!

Cozy home
We arrived on a snowy day and we're happy to see the area and deck shoveled and the home ready to use. It's a cozy home in a quiet development close to many Pocono activities and close to Jubilee Restaurant. The house was nicely decorated and included a loft which had plenty of game room and extra sleeping area.. There were many little amenities to make the house feel more like a home; this included a good supply of firewood for the beautiful fireplace. We did not use it for our 2 day stay but could just picture the glow it would give the rooms. We did see several deer in the back yard which our dog was really interested in. Greg gave great directions and was easy to deal with. We would recommend this home if you want a quiet getaway in the Poconos.

Comfortable and convenient
The house was comfortable and charming. It was nicely decorated and the pictures shown are accurate. The bathroom was also nicely decorated. The kitchen was spotless, has everything you need and also has a large table with bench seating on both sides. It would be a little tight fully pulled out-but good for a game night. The kids enjoyed the loft area. It was spacious. The video games were too mature for my kids, so you may want to bring your own age appropriate ones. TV was basic cable, so pack extra dvds as well. Basic supplies were also there upon arrival, which is a nice touch. (Feels like a home not just a rental.)The house is on a quiet street and a short walk to the lake (not main lake). Lake Naomi is a beautiful devolopment that is convenient to Camelback (15 min). The best feature of Lake Naomi is it's close proximity to the best restaurant in the poconos- Jubilee. If there is a long wait-stay.It's worth the wait. The food is wonderful, plentiful and very reasonable.
