Nice place to rest after being on the lake
This property was advertised accurately and worked well to rest and eat at the end of the day. We were on the water all day and it was a great place to re-charge. Enjoyed the nice fire pit near the water.
Clean, comfortable house on Norris Lake
We are a family of 4, kids ages 5 and 8. Our kids enjoyed sleeping in the loft. The house was clean and perfect for our trip. We rented a boat through Twin Cove Marina and had no problem tying the boat to the dock. There are about 40 stairs down to the dock, definitely not bad compared to some of the stair cases you see at Norris. Overall, the house met our needs perfectly and we would definitely stay here again!
We love this property! Perfect spot on the Lake! The house is very clean and communication is very easy! Not a far walk or incline to the lake at all! Perfect cove and quiet neighborhood! We had the PERFECT week!! We LOVE Norris Lake!
We had a nice time staying here. We floated in tubes by the dock, rented a boat at a nearby marina. The neighborhood is nice, we played pass in the road. The house was everything we needed. We would boat all day, and grill out at night. Can’t wait to go back.
House is great for small families. Near town, and a more quiet part of the lake. It was our second time here and will be back next year.
Nice Little Cottage
If I could rate communication with owner any higher than 5, I would. Sean is great, reasonable, and accommodating. House is as described, clean, and well stocked. We have 3 children and loft area has plenty of room, and there are fans for air movement. AC works good and the house stayed comfortable. The deck is AWESOME, clean, and well lit. The gas Weber grill works great and is in good condition.
The walk down to the dock area is not overbearing. Dock area is clean, and a great place for swimming and lounging. Adults can easily tuck out of the sun if desired. The fire pit just above the dock area is a nice touch and has plenty of seating area. Turning a boat trailer around is a little tricky the first time, but very doable if you take your time to figure out the little turn around area at the bottom of the drive.
Twin Cove Marina is a short easy drive by water or land, and it has really-truly good food (and ice cream). Band on Saturday night at the marina was fun. Our girls enjoyed all the pets on the dock area and dancing to the music.
The property is literally 10 minutes off of 75 and 10 minutes from Walmart and other amenities in town. If you are coming from the north start slowing down in advance of the exit!!
It is a sharp and abrupt exit ramp. Knoxville is just a short drive south, and we found ourselves in town on a couple rainy days. Plenty to do in the area. check out Little Egypt hiking trail for an easy hike with beautiful waterfalls and streams (maybe 12 minutes from property). Cove Lake State Park has a beautiful area for a picnic overlooking the lake and mountains.
Only downside to speak of is on the weekend the boat dock gets buzzed frequently and is not in a no wake zone. We are going to this property again next year and will be trailering our boat to Twin Cove to launch Saturday and Sunday. The boat ramp is less than 10 minutes from the property. Boat will stay in the water (on the provided lift) Monday through Friday afternoon.
Overall I would recommend. Maybe not for the elderly or disabled, but overall very good. If you have rented on VRBO before, you know communication with the owner can be spotty sometimes. You WILL NOT experience poor communication with Sean.
