About Daniela Lioce
I'm from Puglia, in the south of Italy and I've been living in Florence for more than 30 years. I love travelling with my family or friends, exploring new countries and lands or visiting Art museums. Most of all, I adore the ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Of course, I love Florence: the town I chose to live in and where I chose to grow my children.
Daniela Lioce purchased this Apartment in 2014
Why Daniela Lioce chose Basilica of Santa Croce
I bought this apartment as an investment for my 28 y.o. daughter, Sheila. In fact, she chose the apartment and when we refurbished it, she chose everything: the tiles, the furniture, the colors. I'm very proud : she did a great job also choosing old pieces of furniture in thrift stores or in our old attic, giving them a new life and mixing them with contemporary goods and useful devices. Sheila made it a nice place to live in, very comfortable for families with kids, elders, group of friends. It's very versatile.
What makes this Apartment unique
When we saw the apartment (after having seen at least other 30 places), we decided strait away that we would take it. The location is half away from my apartment and Sheila's: this allows us to be there within few minutes if needed. There are windows in every room (this is not granted in Florence) and both the kitchen and the living room look over a nice and quiet garden. The apartment is spacious and it allows the two rooms to get enough privacy. There are two bathrooms and the night area is separate from the day area from a door.

Great location in Florence
We enjoyed the apartment immensely. Plenty of room for us and our son ( & wife). When we opened the windows, it was quite refreshingly airy. Location is the best, just steps to Piazza di Santa Croce. This made navigating the city and back easy as we just had to find the piazza and were back to the apartment.
Thank you allowing us to stay at your place.

We're glad you liked the apartment! We tried to make it as comfortable as possible
Florence in September
This home would have received 5 stars except for the following:
- The Keesy app required was cumbersome
- For 4 adults, a couple of extra living rooms seats would be more comfortable. There was one couch only. Perhaps a loveseat or a couple of Ikea lounge chairs? Also, a coffee table in front of the couch would have been convenient.
- The washer and dryer...Well, the washer worked but it was super tiny, we could fit maybe 4 articles at a time, and the dryer didn't dry our clothes at all.
- The one bathroom is very small with no counter/storage space.
- We had no A/C the first night but this was remedied the next morning
- The two full flights of stairs were not easy with luggage
The items mentioned above are minor and just for information. The apartment is lovely and we had perfect communication with Danielle and Ruben, and a great time in Florence!
The pictures show exactly how the apartment is set , included the one and only sofa which is a sofa bed that wound be impossible to open if there were two more lounge chairs . There are two, even three , more small armchairs. The fit easily in the room and provide enough comfort for a short rest . We assume that our guests know that this is a touristic apartment, it would be different if a family needed to LIVE there permanently.
The information about the second floor is written in the add , not hidden. The washer is small because there wasn’t enough space for a bigger one unless sacrificing space for living . The dryer works (we know it because we’ve had people living there recently for 6 months) . We would have been happy to show you how if we’d known. To avoid having the coffee table in the middle of the room, we’ve put it on the left hand side of the sofa but each guest can place it wherever he wants, we don’t get upset fir minor changes. Overall, I ‘m glad you enjoyed your stay and I thank you for giving me the occasion to be even more specific about the setting of the apartment. This would certainly help our future guests
A wonderful apartment for myself and my friends. Centrally located and a close walk to all the major sites, however just outside of the hustle and bustle of the more popular areas. Daniela and her associate Rubin left no question unanswered and made the process as easy as possible.
Thank you so much! We are really glad that you appreciate our efforts to make your stay as comfortable as possible
Hope to see you again
Excellent location near great food
We had a great stay! The location is on a quiet street well in walking distance to all the sites. The space was large for our family of 4 and the beds were fantastic.
There is a fantastic place for breakfast about 100 feet from the entrance of the apartment. When you exit turn towards the Santa Croce Piazza and it’s right on the corner. Amazing pastries and coffee.
Checking in was a breeze and the kitchen was fully stocked. We really enjoyed the stay. And the air conditioning worked :)
Thank you so much for your beautiful review and for the suggestions for the guests, Really appreciated
Lovely apartment in Santa Croce
The property fit all our needs for a family of 4. Great location near Santa Croce church. Well appointed apartment. We did not make any dinners but there was plenty of cooking essentials. A grocery was close by. Nice neighborhood. Great communication with Daniela and Chiara. Highly recommend
Thanks for your appreciation
We are glad you liked the apartment :)
Everything you need
Great location by Santa Croce
thank you so much Nancy
It's been wonderful having you here :)
That whole area is full of restaurants, shops, wineries. There is a very busy night life especially in the summer . Florentines love to hang out and meet friends, have an aperitif , walk around.
Very close there are ATM, Post Office, Supermarkets, The Sant'Ambrogio Market, Theaters, Garages...I suggest you to visit workshops and atelier such as Lastrucci for mosaics and the Leather School:
