About this property

PEI Beach House on 14 acres

After a 2 year hiatus due to Covid we are back and better than ever.

This property is a strong part of the Irish History on PEI. This land was settled in the mid 1800's and this house was the second home built for the family. It sits on 14 acres and has easy beach access. Every effort has been made to keep the home as authentic as possible and with the exception of the bathroom, deck and sunroom on the back, everything is very much as it was intended to be.

The first thing about this property is it's location. It's truly a get away from it all kind of place. The meandering path to the beach, the private cove, a babbling brook, and stunning sunsets make this a place of peace and contentment. The beach is ideal for beach fires, gatherings, bass fishing and star gazing. You won't want to miss all the sky has to offer both day and night.

Charlottetown is a day trip. Two hours from Cape Wolfe and while the maps say its less the drive is so scenic you will need to plan for lots of breaks. But if local is your thing you can take a drive up to North Cape along the shore. This drive has been voted one of the 10 best drives in Canada. You can take in Skinner's Pond, Nail Pond, Sea Cow Pond, North Cape just to name a few of the most breath taking views. Local produce and fish is abundant. The fish truck comes into O'Leary a couple of days a week and roadside stands offer up fresh produce. There is also a fishing cove near the house where you can buy fresh scallops and lobsters depending on the season. If your lucky enough to find a fisherman who bottles his own bar clams never pass them up!

The kitchen is updated with lots of room for dinning and relaxing. It's fully equipped and you are invited to use the spices and staples provided. Cooking local fair is a passion and meals are to be enjoyed. Couches are provided in the Kitchen because it seems the natural thing to do after dining.

There is a large deck off the porch and an outdoor bbq. There is also an out building that has a lobster cooker and all the fixings for a feed are provided. You can buy your fresh lobster right from the boat to your pot to enjoy (season permitting). Of course there are Oysters. If Oysters are your thing let us know when your booking and we will arrange a meeting with one of the local growers.

Mill River Golf course is nearby and it's a beautiful course. The area also has a lighthouse you can tour, a potato museum, and weekly Ceilidhs close by. There are lots of beaches for combing and sea glass to be collected. Tell us your interests when you book and we'll do our best to connect you. After all, we want you to love PEI as much as we do.

Perfect PEI family vacation home
This house was absolutely perfect for our family's PEI vacation. The home has had many updates and is even better than the photos. At the same time, it has the character that only an older home possesses. I love all of the little details-- the sea themes, the Anne-inspired touches, the books on the shelves, etc. Having a private beach is amazing. What a view! The little stream and waterfall were lovely. We enjoyed playing cards in the sunroom on rainy days. Owner is quick to respond to any questions. Would stay here again!

The Reilly House - a home away from home
The whole family enjoyed our stay at The Reilly House. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We felt right at home as soon as we entered the place. The house is clean and well maintained and has pretty much everything you need for your stay. The outdoor property is amazing and the views from the screened-in porch are incredible. We spent many evenings walking the very large property and taking in the views. It’s an easy walk to the beach and the kids really enjoyed the stream that flows from the property into the ocean. Although the property is in a rather secluded area nothing is very far away and everything is easy to get used to. Thank you Marcy for sharing your very wonderful place with us.

July 2022 West Cape
Everything at the house was in perfect order and all your needs met. The biggest surprise was seeing the screened in deck at the back of the house. It was perfect for watching sunsets and catching all the cool breezes from any direction when it got too hot. We love the location because we have friends all on the West side. Easy access to Bloomfield and O’Leary to get groceries etc. A little air conditioner on the top floor would have been nice when there were no breezes, but otherwise a great place to stay.

Relaxing and Beautiful!
This beautiful property on Cape Wolfe exceeded our expectations. We were thrilled to arrive to a very clean, well-appointed home with breathtaking views. We really enjoyed sitting on the back porch, that was completely screened in and bug-free and we would play board games and watch the gorgeous sunsets. Marcy was very accessible via text and thought of every detail to make our stay relaxing. She even provided beach towels for guests to use. The beach is a bit of a walk, but worth it- completely private and my kids loved running around and playing in the stream by the beach. I highly recommend this property and look forward to coming back soon!

I live in Toronto but both my parents are from this area of Prince Edward Island. My mother was one of the Howards from Howard's Cove. As kids we summered every year in Cape Wolfe and not surprisingly we are related to almost the entire population in one way or another. My parents restored this house stick by stick and nurtured it for the next generation. It is now my turn to take care of it and hand it on to those who will come after me. Until retirement it is my desire to share and this amazing part of PEI.

Why they chose this property

The Reilly House has been part of my family story since the first settlers landed from Ireland in the 1800's. The place and all around it is steeped in history and folklore. My attachment to the place and people runs deep. This is my favorite place in the world. The place I come to be with relatives, break bread and rejuvenate.

What makes this property unique

The privacy of the beach is first thing I'm certain you will come to love. That and the serenity. The Atlantic breezes blow through the house and the sound of the waves from bed are so relaxing. Long walks await you both on and off the beach.
