Surronded by lush mango trees, the house is located in the center of Guiones
We are from New York and we love surfing.
Samantha purchased this House in 2018
Why Samantha chose Playa Guiones
We fell in love with Nosara when attending friend's wedding. The place is always magical for the group of us who enjoy surfing and exploring nature. The house is a landmark of the beach community. Designed by famous Costa Rican architect Julia Van Wilpe and built by her husband, this house was the first house they built. It utilize the natural ocean breeze for cooling, and all the materials are locally sourced. Large window frames on both side of the room create an indoor-outdoor feeling, and this concept has been replicated by many beach houses in the region. The thick mango trees provide natural green curtains, create a sense of isolation and make you forget you are right in the town center of all the happenings. Wake up naturally to the songs of the birds and monkeys, take a short walk down to the beach. Grab hearty tico breakfast down the street or get an artisanal coffee and fresh juice. Catch some waves and enjoy the magical sunset view. This house is everything that represent an authentic Costa Rica getaway experience.
What makes this House unique
Stay at this historical house to experience living in the nature with modern comfort. Visitors can observe the marvelous details of the architect put into the house. A true mid-century inspired style with rustic touch. A pioneer of eco design at the time that sets classic examples for many modern tropical designs.
