Why John Evangelista chose Auckland City
This historic house is the original homestead of the area which is believed to be built for the Innes family (of Glen Innes) in the early 1900s. It was constructed on top of a hill overlooking the Wai O Taiki Bay; Most of the historic architectural features were retained, with the addition of a modern kitchen and dining area. The house is also complemented by a well-kept garden in the 1500m2 section. The house has two self-contained guest suites which can be adjoined upon request; when both units are booked together. Guest Suite A: Accessible via the front door; Consisting of three bedrooms on the first floor with a spectacular view of the Hauraki Gulf. The kitchen and dining areas are located on the ground floor.
What makes this House unique
Our house has 7 bedrooms. This has been re-designed to house two (2) self-contained units with 3 bedrooms each. Each unit also has its own living areas. Kitchen amenities can be requested. We can cater for you for a reasonable fee (pre-booked). Feel free to enjoy the well-maintained gardens. Avail the wide selection of books, magazines and board games. Enjoy the splattering of art collections in the house. Our house is on the top of a hill situated in the exclusive Wai O Taiki Bay suburb of Auckland. Wai o Taiki Bay borders Glen Innes, Glendowie and the Tamaki River estuary. Its name is based on the original name of the Tamaki River, Te Wai o Taiki, meaning "The Waters of Taiki". The name Taiki is a shortened form of Taikehu, the name of an ancestor of Ngāi Tai. From our house, it’s a short stroll to the Tahuna Torea bird sanctuary and the Roberta Reserve. It's a 5 mins drive to St Helier's Beach and Mission Bay. Nearby is a superb coffee shop, bakery, dairy, salon and physio/gym. Village walks are quiet and pleasant. Buses and trains to the City Centre are accessible

Great location for where we needed to be. John was a great host. Very comfy beds. But being a house I was surprised there was no lounge or wine glasses. The garden was beautiful.
Thank you Cindy for your comments. I will make sure we put some wine glasses in the dining area. I have some in Suite B but probably forgot to put the ones for Suite A. Thanks for the reminder. I plan to add in a couch to the dining area to make it more comfortable. Once again thank you for your kind comments and suggestions.
