About Victoria Stace
The owners are a semi retired couple with adult children and young grandchildren. They live in Wiltshire and spend as much time as possible in Greece. The Summer House is enjoyed by all members of the family - and their friends - and was designed for laidback Summer holiday enjoyment by all ages! We care a great deal about the house and how our guests enjoy themselves, and do our best to make sure that others have a wonderful time too - the house is well looked after, and the gardens and pool are lovingly tended.
Victoria Stace purchased this Villa in 2001
Why Victoria Stace chose Zakinthos
Northern Zakynthos is a protected area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and we fell in love with the area when visiting friends who bought an olive press back in the 1980's. It is still extraordinarily quiet and unspoiled; sheep and goats still wander up and down the hill, and Greek hospitality is as generous as ever. The sea is turquoise blue and crystal clear, the olive groves offer shade, and the best news of all is that Greek wine is now very very drinkable indeed!
What makes this Villa unique
The Summer House is an indulgent holiday house. It has loads of space and is set in 4.5 acres of olive groves so there are lots of places for socialising but equally lots of places for a quiet read or snooze in the shade - undisturbed. It is child friendly as it is on one level, and the pool (behind high stone walls) is away from the house down a short path. We built the house for ourselves, and we designed it for our personal enjoyment, not as a cookie cutter rental property.

Well equipped and stunning views
We stayed as a family of 9 to celebrate my mothers 70th birthday, we found facilities great inc the three fridges, two dishwashers, pool was fantastic , table football and tennis enjoyed by all. Gardens well kept and lovely, outdoor eating and relaxing area lovely and is BBQ area and Greek Oven. Yes it is pretty remote, so order your groceries in advance or collect on way from airport and car very essential, but rewarding by views that are simply stunning, and you are on your own up there. The wife and I ran further up to hill to the very top of the next mountain just to look down on the island and house - Some good restaurants a short drive away. Thanks for letting us stay !
Thankyou Justin. So glad you enjoyed yourselves - you are welcome back any time!
Excellent villa, view and service!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The villa impressed in so many ways; it's clear that a lot of thought went into its set up, especially for big groups. The pool area is brilliant; it's nicely separated from the main villa and the view from it is incredible. Otherwise the communal areas are great and the rooms are suitable. From the moment we booked we were looked after very well. We were sent all the detail we needed for preparation and there is a pre-order food service available, so the fridge is stocked (with food and drinks) for your arrival - we made full use of it and are so glad we did. Cleaners came in a couple of times to change sheets and towels, which was well received. Overall we were very happy - thank you for an awesome holiday!
Im so pleased you had a good time. The Summer House is very well loved by us all, and we enjoy sharing it!
Peace and tranquility.
The summer house is a wonderful family home set in beautifully landscaped grounds. Fabulous infinity pool with glorious views to kefalonia. The house is well maintained and has everything one would need. Hazel and her team were very amenable, helping with food shopping. The house is perfect for large groups as well as couples. My husband and I are looking forward to returning!
Thank you for this feedback. We love the house so much that I sometimes wonder if we are blinkered about it’s beauty and tranquillity. You are welcome back any time!
This place has it all
The house has everything you may need to enjoy your stay and it is very well maintained. We wanted a home where we could cook after long days at the beach. After the first night we remarked about how the house was clearly owned by someone who cooks! It had everything we needed.
The pool and adjacent pool house was great for our kids and adults. If you have really young kids you need to be careful to keep the gates closed.
We highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing place to escape.
I'm so glad you had a great time and enjoyed our various cooking options. My son is a sensational chef and so this aspect of the design is largely thanks to him! Please come back another year, best wishes. Vikki
The Summer House
We loved The Summer House !
It is beautifully landscaped and planted !! The villa has been carefully designed for an easy stay for our big family . Everyone being able to be together or find quiet spots to relax quietly at different times of the day .
Stephano and Dimitre made our holiday perfect !! It is beautifully appointed and the lovely fairies swooped in twice a week which was a treat ! Thank you Vikki we will definitely come back !!
We are very happy that you loved our house too. you're welcome back any time!
There is a delightful little cove just 5 minutes away by car, and a larger beach with famously blue waters 10 minutes away. Further away Alykes has long beaches with lots of watersports. The Peligoni Club is also about ten minutes drive, with the pretty little port of Aghios Nikolaos just beyond. It is possible to hire boats - either for personal use or with a captain - and explore the famous Shipwreck Beach.
Zakynthos Airport - 40 minutes drive. Car hire is essential.
There are many local tavernas both in the port and in the pretty village of Volimes (up the hill behind the house). A small local shop is at the end of the drive. For the more adventurous, a ferry goes to Cephalonia daily, Alykes with its bars, supermarkets and cashpoint machines is 30 minutes by car, whilst the young might enjoy the clubs in Laganas, 45 minutes away at the South of the island.
Northern Zakynthos is unspoilt, with its olive groves, ancient villages, and pine covered hills sloping down to impossibly blue seas. The peace is broken only by the sound of goat bells as they forage around the ruins of Venetian monasteries, and dry stone walls.
The famous shipwreck beach is close by - accessible either by car or boat from the little port of Aghios Nicalaos.
