The villa and pool were exactly as described. A beautiful and airy villa in a peaceful location which was very convenient to all necessities to have a wonderful holiday. Shops and beach with a excellent boardwalk all within under a 10 minute drive. Manuel was very helpful and a welcoming host to us, nothing a bother for him. The welcome pack he left was very appreciated after a long journey. Little touches like this make all the difference.
UK TV channels were a bonus and beds very comfortable too!
Would recommend this villa for a low-key relaxing holiday with everything within reach. Guia is a fantastic location to base yourself if you want to explore the Algarve region.
We decided to stay in Guia after many years in the Vilamoura area for our golfing trips, we have visited Guia many times to soak up the local atmosphere and eat at many of the
Famous Chicken restaurants. Our host and owner Manuel De Castro lives next door with his family and was on hand to welcome us on arrival, quite late in the evening following a visit to the supermarket to pick up supplies; these were not necessary, unknown to us Manuel had very thoughtfully provided a welcome pack of essentials.
Located at the end of a narrow Cul-De-Sac, the villa is accessed via a downhill drive to the front door. It’s bright and airy with quite an individual well designed style. The large open plan ground floor has a well equipped kitchen at one end, a dining alcove with a large table and chairs and the well furnished lounge area with sliding doors on to a private covered deck area overlooking the delightful garden and pool. The outside area has a long deck with chairs and a coffee table outside the lounge and down a couple of steps to the lower deck a large glass topped table and chairs. Off the lounge via a small step and corridor behind the stairs are the two ground floor twin rooms and bathrooms with wardrobes, the bedroom overlooking the garden has an opening door to the patio.
An open style (but safe) staircase leads up to the master bedroom and en-suite bathroom. It is a large room with a (very comfortable) double bed, 2 armchairs, bedside cabinet, chest of drawers and a double wardrobe. Access to its own rooftop terrace overlooking the pool and garden having a table and 4 chairs. Sitting up here is nice late in the day when the sun has gone down from the pool area. There is a rear terrace also but quite plain and unfurnished presumably because it overlooks the road and the drive.
The pool area is great, gets the sun a lot of the day (September) many loungers and seats, barbecue, pool toys, lilo type things, even a Wendy type play-house for children. The pool was nice and warm. Maids came in midweek to clean and change towels, etc.
Depending on how old or your level of fitness, the villa is about a 20 minute walk on quietish roads, some uphill, some downhill to the town where all the restaurants and bars are located, we took a 5 euro taxi ride each way. (Manuel did offer to take us and pick us up, but we didn’t want to impose on his good nature too much) We can
Recommend the Guia Football Club Café, we always stopped there for a beer and enjoy
Lovely villa and host
Just back from a lovely stay here. The villa is very spacious, light and airy and is as described. As a group of 6 ladies, we had plenty of space both inside and out. Manuel the owner, looked after us, was there when needed but was not intrusive. A few more kitchen utensils would be great and a welcome pack of local places would be useful. Definitely worth paying to heat the pool. The welcome goodies were great fully received.
Would definitely return here or one of the owners other villa’s if coming back to the area.
Beautiful Villa & location
We had a fantastic holiday in Guia the villa is lovely and Manuel was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The villa is very spacious and well equipped with everything you need.
We would recommend this villa.
Our lovely holiday in Guia
I began my search for a villa a year before my holiday. I was very impressed with Manuel's prompt replies to my many questions before I even booked. He was happy to help and no question seemed too much trouble.
The villa was in a lovely quiet area of Guia, but only a short walk away from a selection of shops and restaurants.
The villa was beautiful, just like the photos and the pool was lovely especially with the heating.
Manuel the owner lived next door. He was a wonderful host, so friendly and helpful with advice on the surrounding area. We had a wonderful holiday thank you.
Thank you for your very kind words regarding your stay with us.
My Very Best Wishes, and hope to see you all again in the near future
This villa is just as good as it looks - well kept with very good facilities inside and excellent space outside. Manuel the host is very helpful and although he lives next door he is helpful when needed rather than obtrusive. The villa is 15 minutes walk from Guia although facilities and restaurants in the village are somewhat rustic. Be sure to hire a car to explore restaurants and sites further afield - this is a good base. Highly recommended if you ant to be away from the hustle and bustle. Only the weather let us down!
This villa "CASA DA QUINTA" is within five minutes' drive of the glorious, sandy expanse of Praia da Galé. A slightly longer drive takes you the 10km to Albufeira with its lovely beaches, quaint old town, restaurants, bars and nightlife. The famous Zoomarine park can be reached in five minutes and there are two Water parks and horse riding centre also not far away.
Faro Airport at 43km. Full driving instructions will be provided following acceptance of booking. Car Hire recommended but advice on airport transfers can be given.
Situated in Guia, 10 Km west of Abufeira, the villa is situated in a tranquile area within easy walking distance of Guia with its famous Chicken Piri Piri restaurants. The village has all the amenities you would need: banks with ATM facilities, Pharmacy (English speaking), paper shop and post office, bakery, coffee shop and bars. There is a small, daily local market offering local produce. Less than 5 minutes'drive will take you to Algarve Shopping Centre where you will find a large supermarket and huge selection of shops and outlets.
