Castle Cottage Near Perugia With Large Pool, Garden And Private Patio

We love to let our wonderful holiday house in Umbria. Approx. 20km from Tuscany. Our cottage is part of a 13th century castle complex (Castello di Gaiche), fully renovated and restored to its original style. The castle lies on top of a hill with incredible views. The cottage is surrounded by a large garden with various seating areas, olive trees and lavender bushes. The swimming pool of approximately 7x15m is a 300m walk from the castle which guarantees the much appreciated silence at the castle and garden. The pool is only available for guests of the Castello. The surrounding area with Lago Trasimeno (Trasimeno Lake) counts many picturesque villages like Panicale, Citta della Pieve and Piegaro with fine restaurants. The famous cities of Assisi, Orvieto, Perugia, Todi, Spoleto and Montefalco are all less than 1 hour drive. Montepulciano, Siena, Florence and Rome are within driving distance (approx 1.5 - 2h). Nearby airports: Perugia (from London Stansted), Pisa, Florence and Rome (Ciampino and Fiumicino)

Comfortable and charming old mill in the heart of Umbria
We had a wonderful vacation in this beautiful cottage. It is part of an ancient castello, as a separate little house (the old mill) and with all modern amenities, lovingly restored. The views from the beautiful garden are absolutely stunning, and we much enjoyed our breakfasts in the sunshine outside. Thanks for a great holiday in this stunning cottage — we can only warmly recommend it!

Eine tolle Unterkunft
Man kann es kurz machen... Ein phantastischer Ort. Wir waren im Cottage zu Gast und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Ich hätte überall 5 * gegeben aber zwei (kleine) Dinge verhinderten dies. Ein persönlicher Empfang vor Ort wäre schön gewesen, so war man mit etwaigen Fragen auf sich gestellt. Alles machbar aber halt nur 4* bei "Kommunikation" und bei "Check-In". Wirklich perfekt wäre es gewesen, wenn nicht im Nachbar-Cottage am Ende sehr trinkfeste und laute Gäste aus England (?) eingezogen wären, welche auch um 01:00 in der Nacht grölend durch den Garten zogen und unser Bitten um Ruhe einfach mal ignorierten. Aber alles in allem würden wir jederzeit gerne wiederkommen!

Why they chose this property

Castello di Gaiche really is an amazing, romantic and beautiful place. It is easy to stay around the castle for days and enjoy the garden, the walks around it, the castle itself, the medieval church next to it, the swimming pool. The area provides many very picturesque villages where time is standing still: Panicale, Piegaro, Citta della Pieve. Umbria has a wonderful landscape and there is only a few tourists.
