One Bedroom, sleeps 2, rural setting, field views.
Patrick and I have lived in Cublington for 30 years. We are passionate about nature and the countryside, enjoying our garden and planting it full of unusual plants and trees. Recently I have become a beekeeper and now we are also trying to make our surrounding fields as friendly as possible for all our pollinators.

Little Oak Barn in January
This is a very honest review! I will start with the negatives.
We thought it was expensive for the size of the property and the fact that it was January. There was underfloor heating but at times we were cold. There was no dressing table and the only mirror was in the kitchen and I had to kneel on a chair to be able to see myself ( I'm only 4 foot 8) There was a larder fridge with no freezer compartment which we didn't realise until we came back from the Supermarket with some frozen food .
On a more positive note - The owners were lovely and friendly.
Eggs Milk and honey were left for us!
We have a dog and doggy towels were left out for us.
There was a great quality washing machine we used a couple of times
The kitchen units were really nice - wish I had them in my kitchen to be honest.
The shower was lovely and water always hot!
The free wifi was great!
The bed was SO comfy!
Despite the awful weather at the beginning of our stay we did enjoy our stay and visiting new places.
Dear Christine, Thank you for your review. It is such a shame you didn't come and ask how to turn the heating up, it is so easy, as detailed in the welcome booklet, we could have made you toasty warm. Again if you had only asked we could have made a freezer drawer available to you in our freezer which we have done for previous guests.
I am glad you had a good break, despite the weather and had a good journey home to Lancashire.
all the best, Sara and Patrick.
The Mighty Little Oak Barn
Tucked away in a quiet valley in the rural area around Leighton Buzzard this lovely holiday cottage has more character and charm than its name indicates. If you are looking for a secluded retreat not a million miles away from "civilization" this is the place to find peace, quiet, and a stillness that will sooth and refresh even the most jangled of nerves. It was clean, and modern, with touches of rustic charm and a view overlooking green fields and rolling hills. Sara, the owner was welcoming and gracious and provided for guests with those small touches that are so important to making a weekend or a longer visit so successful...home produced honey from her very own hives was a delicious addition to the breakfast eggs and coffee on hand. Thank you Sara for hosting weary city dwellers in Little Oak Barn. Truly worth every one of the 5 stars from this review.
Thank you so much for your lovey review, it was a pleasure to host and meet you.

We are very well located to visit the Market towns of Leighton Buzzard and Aylesbury as well as the new city of Milton Keynes where you can snow ski, water ski, shop or visit the theatre.
We are close to several National trust properties such as Waddesdon, Ascot House and the Claydons.
There are many beautiful country walks from Little Oak itself or visit the country parks of Stockgrove in Leighton Buzzard or if you fancy a longer walk visit Ashridge or Ivinghoe Beacon all within a 20 minute drive.
If shopping is your thing Milton Keynes is a great shopping hub or Bicester Village is only 35 minutes away.
The Grand Union canal is only a short drive away for a pleasant walk stopping off at several pubs on route.
London is easily reached within 40 minutes from Leighton Buzzard or Aylesbury train station.
