Cozy Chalet w/ a fireplace in a quiet courtyard

The Cozy Chalet is a 2 bedroom townhouse apartment located just 12 minutes walk from the Eaton Centre and Dundas Square, Toronto's spiritual centre.

We've equipped the apartment with all the fun things the modern traveler could want: a 60" LED TV, an XBOX One X, two controllers, multiple games, an Apple TV 4 with Netflix, TV Player (UK), and our beloved BBC iPlayer.

In the kitchen one will find a coffee machine, a stove, a fridge and everything you could desire for all your cooking needs. We have a drip coffee machine and a Keurig. You'll shop for your ingredients 15 minutes to the south, in the world famous St.Lawrence Market, voted the best food market in the world by National Geographic in 2012.

Pro tip: The St.Lawrence Market is expensive. You don't have to shop there just because we said so. There are lots of other options.

The living room is equipped with a gas fireplace for cooler evenings, to keep everyone cozy.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, an office desk with a 27" monitor with USB-C hookup for your MacBook/Windows laptops. It's a U2720Q 4k professional photo editing monitor. Previously we had an iMac however due to the pandemic more and more people brought their own laptops on their trips and popular demand dictated we switched it out for a monitor.

We also added in a printer in case you need to print out your Toronto Maple Leaf tickets for the big game.

The smaller bedroom sports a twin over full bunk bed, comfortably sleeping 3. This bed easily accommodates adults as well as children, as it is a full bed on the bottom, and twin on top.

There are two balconies - one at the front, with a small table and two seats, and one at the back, with a small love seat, perfect for enjoying an early morning coffee.

There is fast WIFI on tap too, there's Nothing Worse than a slow internet connection.

Parking is included in the underground garage.

The Urban Cabin Getaway is designed to give families an affordable and comfortable base in downtown Toronto. It is located in a residential neighbourhood, surrounded by our very own neighbours (and also by us, we live 3 doors away). We cannot accommodate any kind of large and noisy events, parties, or get-togethers, or anything that would disturb our neighbours. We expect our guests to use common sense and act responsibly towards the environment and respect the residential character of our neighbourhood.

Family Vacation Coincides with State of Emergency
Our family arrived in Toronto shortly before a state of emergency was declared. Over the course of our 5 day holiday, COVID-19 led to the closure of all major attractions and the majority of businesses. In the midst of all this chaos, we had Calin's lovely home away from home. Calin was extremely responsive to all of our needs. Check in was a breeze and the place was lovely. Being within walking distance of the city centre was exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend Calin's place to other families looking to spend some time in the heart of Toronto.

Nous avons apprécié la propreté du logement. Notre hôte nous a donné la possibilité de laisser nos valises dans l’appartement jusqu’à notre départ (fin d’après-midi) ce qui nous a permis de profiter de toronto jusqu’au bout. L’appartement est particulièrement adapté aux familles.

Bien situé et très confortable, paisible.
Une belle maison, très bien équipée, et bien situé. Quelques minutes à pied de plusieurs supermarchés, metro, Eaton Center, St Lawrence Market. Les "extras", comme un Xbox, nespresso machine, et machine à laver et seché-linge.... On était gâté!

Beautiful apartment in downtown Toronto
Very well maintained and equipped large apartment, lots of amenities and cozy in a private courtyard setting. Nice touches upon arrival, coffee and laundry detergent available, for instance. Sophisticated heat and A/C system, all very modern and easy to use. The neighbourhood, though very central and convenient, can be a challenge for some - it is safe but it is in a part of the city that has not been gentrified (yet). I had a wonderful and relaxing stay.

Très bien situé. Près du métro, d'une épicerie et du centre Eaton. À 20 à 30 minutes de marche de la tour du CN et du ferry des îles de Toronto. Accès facile car près de l'autoroute.

Why they chose this property

The apartment is very VERY central, just a few minutes (7) walk from the Eaton Centre, however it is located in a private courtyard, so it is in a quiet and serene spot. It can sleep 5 people, comfortably. It is equipped with all the latest and funnest things, like an Xbox, a big screen LED TV, Netflix, an iMac computer for researching the fun things you need to do next.. and we also have bassinet for those travelling with babies. We pride ourselves in being thoughtful and caring hosts.
