Why Jason and Andrea Soldini chose Weeki Wachee Gardens
In 2010, the family went on it's first Nature Coast adventure, tubing on the Ichetucknee River and scalloping in Steinhatchee. What a blast! In subsequent summers, the family explored Crystal River, Suwanee River, Homosassa Springs and finally Weeki Wachee Springs / Hernando Beach. Weeki Wachee was by far the favorite with its natural surroundlings, waterfront location, proximity to the river, gulf attractions, restaurants and shops. They returned the next year to the same vacation rental home. Since the previous years stay, a lot of thought had been given to purchasing a similar property in Weeki Wachee and purchased Mermaid Cove on W. Richard Drive. (VRBO # 747599) After a year of success and a growing family they discovered this property around the corner and fell in love with the location, size and many unique qualities!
What makes this House unique
Weeki Wachee River Retreats, where "Pirate's Cove" is located, is located in the middle of State and National forest preserved lands. The gulf coast is only 10 minutes away, town with all the conveniences is only 10 minutes the other direction. Local attractions include kayaking, cycling, boating, fishing, scalloping and exploring. The entire Nature Coast has so many natural beauties to discover. Pirate's Cove sits right on the water. The Living areas and screen porch overlook the water. The dock offers a peaceful and relaxing place to sit. and watch mullet spring out of the water and manatees cruise by. The water is lovely to swim in and the river is a very short paddle away . The river is navigable for small boats such as a pontoon, bowrider or fishing boat and is conveniently close to the gulf. The neighbors are wonderful and the vacationers are friendly. What better location could there be? This is the "Old Florida" that Jason and Andrea grew up in and have now rediscovered! Whether you are planning a cozy getaway or hosting a large group, Pirate's Cove has the place for your next vacation! Downstairs, Mermaid Landing is a 1/1 that can accommodate up to 4 guests! Upstairs in the 2/1 Captain's Quarters there is space for 7 to stay comfortably. Both are set apart from each other and private yet if needed the entire space can be used for a larger party such as a family reunion. Watch wildlife, fish jumping and manatees swim by from your backyard dock and paddle easily to the crystal clear Weeki Wachee River.

With a beautiful view and abundant wildlife, I highly recommend this split level property.
We had a terrific time during our Weeki Wachee stay. We went to see the Mermaids and were pleasantly surprised with our amenities. I didn't realize the property is a split level until we arrived and would have chosen a different property if I had. I am so glad that I didn't because we really enjoyed being so close to the water. Though there isn't much privacy, the area is beautiful. Despite so many other people up and down the river enjoying their stays, the birds and fish were always visible. We also saw a manatee. The home was very clean. The beds in the room with the pirate ship bed are very uncomfortable but the king size bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the decor and appreciated the effort it must have taken to furnish with so many unique nautical pieces. The captain/pirate theme was very well balanced. There are many boats and oars for use, in addition to bicycles. Our intent was to see the Mermaids, but we were also able to enjoy swimming and kayaking without incurring additional charges. There are plenty of linens in the home too. We had no issues during our stay. We arrived at the park to see the Mermaids about 15 minutes before they opened on a Sunday and were told that they didn’t have to close admissions until 10:30 am that day. We also highly recommend Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. If we had to complain it would be that the coffee maker takes a really long time to brew.
Best Vacation Ever!
We really enjoyed this location and everything that came with. Lots of things to do nearby. Nice neighborhood with friendly people and very relaxing! Jason was super helpful with the questions I had and answered me right away! Thank you, we'll be coming back and recommending your home to others!

Relaxing and fun filled!
Thank you! We had a good time
Our stay was very enjoyable and prefect location close to everything you may need. It was clean and loved the pirate theme through out the whole house.
We didn’t realize it was a split level rental house, but couldn’t hear the younger group below us in the house. Jason was very helpful and will recommend staying here to friends and family.
A great and special experience
We stayed there for 2 nights and it's a pity we did not stay longer
The house is decorated in pirate style - just like in pictures
The house is very clean and equipped with everything you need
We enjoyed the special atmosphere and the closeness to nature
We saw some sea cows
And lots more animals and birds
A magical and very pastoral place
The neighbors are very nice and friendly
For those who want to experience the nature of Florida as locals
The hosts were generous and agreed to a later checkout
Although we lingered at the exit, the cleaner was nice and allowed us to get organized and take a shower
There is a lot to do around - we ordered kayaks from the park - but in practice the river is just around the corner, and most animals can be seen from the pier and the canals near the house.
Thank you very much for the hospitality and we will be happy to return this time for a longer period
Weeki Wachee - paddling trip
Came to paddle for almost a week on Weeki Wachee. The apartment is a good place to chill after a hard paddle on the river.
We were 2 families (4 people) and by my luck we got the kid's bedroom, a boat shaped bed, on 2 levels. Poor sleep on those beds, it should be replaced by a proper queen bed, with a good mattress.
The floating dock is a good a addition, this was our second stay at this house.
