About Jason Kardos
I live in San Diego County with my wife and daughter. This accommodation has been traditionally rented out month to month but has been recently remodeled and I am opening it up to people who would like to use for vacations and seasonal use.
Jason Kardos purchased this Apartment in 2005
Why Jason Kardos chose Julian
This property is located on top of a commercial building used by the locals and is at the end of town that has less traffic than Main Street Julian, but feels like it is in it's own private hide away and is close to town if you want to walk.
What makes this Apartment unique
This accommodation is located on the second story of the regional strip mall that has the Julian Newspaper, Chiropractor, Massage Theripist, Real Estate Office, & local fire & emergency center. Located across the street from the Nickel Beer Co. Situated on over 3 acres of property with an open field in the back that can be utilized for pets and horses.

Overall experience was good. Place is clean and in a convenient location. I would stay again.
Hi Alicia, Thanks for your stay and feedback! I am glad you had a nice time and would come back. Thanks for letting me know about the heavy wind and rain you experienced and how I can improve the rental. Warmly, Jason
Very Cozy in a Great Location!
Great little property within walking distance from the main shops/ restaurants in Julian. Simple check in/ check out and Jason was very communicative. The property is very cozy and was plenty for my fiance and I and our pup. Very quaint and a great quick weekend getaway spot!
Thanks for spending your birthday with us at the Hollow Glen Road vacation rental! I am glad everything worked out for you and you had a nice time. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have you back again in the future. Warmly, Jason
Absolutely seamless experience and property owner was attentive without being " too present "
The home is the perfect size, quiet neighborhood, walking distance from downtown.
Only complaint would be the heaters (older style electric heaters) make tapping/ clicking sounds occasionally while on. If you're a light sleeper, this may keep you up.
All in all, perfectly pleasant!
Hi Nyleen, Thank you for your stay and feedback. I am glad your late night check-in went well. I always want to make sure people find it okay and do not have issues when it is late and dark. I saw ice on the ground today and I know it was cold when you stayed. I am glad the electric baseboard heaters worked well for you (minus the heater sound you hear). The property has electricity only with no gas or wood burning stove since it was originally built. I am looking forward to installing a newer "Split-AC" style HVAC system that should be great for heating and air conditioning in the near future and we hope you might come back again in the future. Warmly, Jason
Second time and still love it!
We first came here when we were pregnant with our twins. It was a perfect spot for a quick getaway and this time it was so fun bringing our almost 2-year-olds to enjoy the charm of Julian! We love the location of this place just minutes outside of downtown and walk across the street to a quaint little brewery. They gave us beanbags got the kids to play with so we could enjoy tasting some local flavors. The cabin itself is very cute- perfect decor and just the right size for us. The kids were so excited to look out the window in the morning and wake up to a pond and ducks! There’s a park with a playground .5 miles away and lots to do in town. Jason was very helpful and hospitable. We will be back!
Hi Sara, It was so nice to have your family back. I am not sure if I have ever seen ducks in the pond, however I have seen a white crane and a deer and turkeys walk by in the past. Thank you again for your feedback. It helps me understand what people like about the place and how I can make it better. All the best in 2020!
Warm & Lovely Home
It felt like we were staying on family property, surrounded by charming decor and tons and tons of blankets and pillows! Overall very comfy and inviting, and we loved the minimalist yet functional kitchen! Check in was a snap, and Jason was very easy to reach and provided plenty of information before we got there. There was also tons of brochures and cards for local history, outdoor activities and great restaurants. The bed and futon were comfy for the 4 of us to sleep. Overall, very lovely and positive experience ♥️
Alicia, Thank you very much for staying at the Hollow Glen Road, Julian Vacation rental. I am glad it made you feel like at home. We do try and have the comforts of home with kitchen utensils to cook your own meals, games, linens, etc. so that you do not have to bring anything. I did not want to have it as bare as a hotel or bed and breakfast might with in suite amenities and we are constantly trying to find the right balance. We do have many books as well and the record player that I always like using to try and take you back in time a bit. One guest even left a telescope to view the Julian dark skies which I still need to figure out how to use or maybe a guest can spend a night looking at the sky. We hope you come back and stay again and we appreciate any endorsements to your friends or family. Warmly, Jason
Christmas in Julian
We had very wintry weather in Julian, but the baseboard and space heaters kept us warm and cosy. The kitchen had all the essentials and a small market was easy walking distance. And Nickel Brewing is right across the street. The place was clean and tidy, plus there were thoughtful touches. Check in was easy and on time. Downtown Julian was a quick walk, but being a bit down the street kept us out of the hubbub. We will stay here again for sure.
Thank you so much for your stay and feedback. I am glad you had a nice Julian Christmas and you were able to navigate the town when it had a lot of visitors there. We hope to have you back again and appreciate any endorsements to your friends and family. Warmly, Jason
