Thanksgiving stay was only ok
Pros: Can’t beat the surroundings. Beautiful and secluded. Clean and comfortable. Badminton setup was great for the kids. Easy drive to Redwood NP and Arcata Airport. Not as hard to find as other reviews mention (maybe Google Maps is updated).
Cons: No napkins, no paper towels, dish and handsoap watered down to the point of limited effectiveness, not sufficient kitchen utensils to prepare a Thanksgiving meal, 4 bath towels with no access to laundry, 4 parking spots for 2 units (this was a factor because the other unit’s guests had three vehicles). Here’s the kicker: sound propagates from upstairs unit with extreme clarity. Every footfall, cupboard closing, door closing (shakes the house), and even conversation were clearly and loudly transferred downstairs. Toilet flushing upstairs is very loud downstairs. It became a problem because the upstairs guests were loud and active until around 4 a.m.
Enjoyed our stay here. Overall this place is great. However the bathroom needs a remodel and/or good cleaning. Disappointed in the state of the bathroom but the rest of the place was great!
This is a beautiful place to stay. Clean, quiet, peaceful and comfortable. The detailed driving instructions were on point and very helpful. Definitely recommend if you want a quiet place to stay, but close enough to town.
Peace in the redwoods
Stayed 3 nights here while we visited the Redwoods. Perfect location. Right in Between Humboldt state park and Redwood national Forest. The setting is beautiful. Quiet and beautiful.
it has a microwave. great place to stay. we played volleyball in the yard and enjoyed the view out the windows.
Very serviceable owner and house was as described on the site: great.
The dishes and cutlery inventory were a bit short for a family of 4.
