South Swell Tofino (formerly Blue Heron) Waterfront home amid old growth cedars

South Swell (formerly Blue Heron Guest House) is a 3 bedroom custom built home overlooking Jensen's Bay in Tofino. Exceptional wood detailing, skylights, vaulted ceilings, private hot tub and gas fireplace.

An inlet waterfront retreat situated on 1.5 acres overlooking Jensen's Bay. A 5 minute walk from South Chesterman Beach, Jensen's Bay is a significant flyway for migratory birds.

A seating area at water's edge is a great place enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the early morning and a perfect vantage point for sighting eagles, herons and other bird species. Occasionally you may spot a bear foraging across the tidal flats.

Towering cedars complement the property. Other wood was milled and transformed into the home's posts and beams. Chesterman Beach is ideally located a 5 minute walk for surfing, beach combing, dog walks or an early evening stroll to take in the iconic West Coast sunsets.

Tofino is 5km away and accessed by road or a well maintained, paved multi-use pathway. The path connects Tofino and the town of Ucluelet and provides ready access to beaches and Pacific Rim National Park.

Just up the road (1184 Pacific Rim Hwy) is a collection of shops for groceries, yoga, surf rentals, great local food (Wildside Grill & Tacofino), coffee/espresso/baked goods (The Tofitian) and chocolate .....Tofino style. The town of Tofino is a short drive (5 km) so a car would be ideal. In summer, a free (and surfboard friendly!) shuttle service runs between Tofino and Cox Bay. You can hop on and off at several points along the route, including 2 stops close by.

Best stay thus far
South Swell was the best place we've stayed in Tofino. Considering that we've vacationed there numerous times since our honeymoon 32 years ago, that's saying a lot. Our family joined this time and we all found the stay to accommodate all our needs, and then some. From the size to the location, and to all the amenities, we were delighted to have built lasting memories in Kelly & Bob's place. Speaking of which, the two of them greeted us and quickly responded to our requests...the communication was perfectly on-point. The home-away-from-home ambiance was clearly top priority; it made everything easy.This will be our choice every time our family chooses Tofino! Thanks so much for everything, Kelly & Bob!!

Very warm and welcoming unit. Everything was spotless with three large bedrooms. Kitchen was big and well stocked with everything we needed for making food. For a shared property it still felt very private and secluded. Would return!

Wonderful cabin
The property and home are so lovely and well maintained. Amenities are just an extra special touch, hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit. Also so well set up with dishes and pantry stocked for cooking meals, board games, puzzles, great signage and easy instructions throughout the home. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back.

South Swell in Tofino is a perfect getaway for people wishing to escape into the wild natural habitat of the Pacific Northwest. The house is nicely appointed and it is within 5 minutes walk to beautiful Chesterman beach. I cant say enough good things about Kelly, the property's host and owner. We had some very complicated situations within our family with people arriving from overseas and the uncertainty surrounding this. She was very understanding and accommodating, which took a huge amount of stress off our booking at her place. We are very appreciative for all this. Thank you Kelly!

We really enjoyed our stay! Our hosts were very responsive and kind. The house was pristine and clean. The kitchen is so well equipped for cooking at home. And had sharp knives!! Honestly, more than we needed to cook comfortably. Brand new washer and dryer. Great hot tub! Highly recommend and will be back!

Fantastic stay
This property is very comfortable - very clean, all amenities are there and then some, such as beach towels and a wagon to take to the beach (which is less than five minutes walk away). The property is on a lovely, quiet inlet. So a peaceful getaway during busy Tofino months. Kelly and Doug were very responsive and have really thought of their guests’ comfort and experience in setting up the space. Highly recommend this accommodation.

A lovely stay at South Swell
We had an excellent stay at this property. Kelly and Bob were extremely responsive and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The house is lovely with everything you need. Location is fantastic as well. Directly across from Chesterman Beach and a short drive to the town. We would definitely stay again!

Amazing and relaxing retreat!
Our family had a wonderful stay. They have all the amenities you could ask for and the property was even better than advertised. The hosts are responsive and accommodating. The hot tub and seating areas were serene and we loved the location- just a short walk to Chesterman Beach. We were really hoping for a beautiful and relaxing getaway and that's exactly what we got. Terrific Experience - a trip highlight
This space has everything you could need and more. The communal gathering spaces (deck, kitchen, living room) accommodated everyone and allowed us to prepare meals and enjoy them together all while maintaining conversation and being social. The greenery around the home offers ample seclusion, so much so we often found ourselves forgetting there's an attached home - great design that prioritizes privacy for both sides of the home. The hot tub was a real treat, and bear prints on the shoreline! 10/10 - will check this listing before others when we return.

This was the third or fourth time we've come to stay at Blue Heron/South Swell and we had a great time. The home is so comfortable and nice, and we love the new outdoor shower! This is the best appointed kitchen I've ever had while renting, and loved spending cool rainy evenings in the hot tub. Hopefully we'll be back soon!

This was our first time visiting Tofino and the Blue Heron was a great location to check out all the surrounding sites. Right across from Chesterman Beach, you can't really beat location, especially if your surfing. House was clean and well laid out. The inlet was very cool, my sons had fun playing in the mud or watching the tide come in. Hot tub was a bonus. Kitchen was a bit small for a family who likes to cook but we made due and it had everything we needed. Overall we would recommend
