About this property

Quiet Retreat near Yosemite and Pine Mountain lake located in a gated community

Our lovely one-level 1900+ sq. ft (180+ sq. m.) house was built in 2007 on the edge of the gated Pine Mountain Lake community. It is just 2.5 hours drive from San Francisco. In 2016 we remodeled and built 600 sq. ft deck for those who prefer sky over vaulted ceilings. All bedrooms are of equal size with master having balcony, and deep tub. Kitchen is spacious, there's WiFi and 55" TV. The lake has 3 swimming beaches & boat rental. Yosemite entrance is 25 miles away. Linens & towels are provided.

This is our gated community vacation house we sometimes visit. It is well equipped and furnished. Guests are provided with towels, linens, comforters, kitchenware, etc. You will find beds with mattresses of different firmness from firm to soft and good pillows. The kitchen is spacious and aside from typically expected, is equipped with rice cooker, toaster, and blender. Living room has a gas fireplace. Powerful central AC/air heater and 50-gallon water heater make your stay reliably pleasant :) Master bathroom has deep bathtub. There is a 60" TV with HDMI inputs and a media player into which you can plug a USB drive with common movie file formats like .mkv or .avi. You are welcome to bring your laptop or other source of video/movies. There's no cable TV service, but there is BlueRay/DVD player and some disks to pay. The Wifi internet is there but NOT for heavy internet activities like streaming. There's a patio table with 6 chairs outside on the deck and two hammocks. You are welcome to use propane grill. Backyard has fire-pit area with chairs.

The house is in a gated community with a golf course, seasonal heated swimming pool (May-October), the lake's three swimming beaches that get really warm to swim in summer, hiking trails near by, tennis courts, horse tables, and much more. We can advise on many possible day activities and places to go at different times of the year. Yosemite Park entrance is just 25 miles away, but there are many other attractions in proximity. Historical Gold Rush towns, multiple caves, Tuolumne river canyon, mountain lakes, white water rafting are just the first things that come to my mind. Wintertime, you can snowshoe and cross country, and downhill ski at Yosemite. Downhill skiing/snowboarding is possible with a little over an hour drive to either Dodge Ridge or Yosemite's Badger Pass ski resorts. For the little ones there are FREE "adventures" near by, like a 5min drive to airport to see airplanes take off and land, horse stables to touch a horse's nose, 3min drive to playground with a slide, swings, and sandbox, or feeding trout at Moccasin Creek Hatchery (think of it as your free aquarium, just 15min drive away :) Kids 5 and under ride free in Railtown 1897 steam train found in Jamestown, a 25 min drive away from our home. During summer youngsters enjoy around-the-lake water taxi rides. Seeing Milky Way behind countless stars on a moonless night is captivating. There's plenty to see and do for folks of all ages no matter the season!

We value your privacy. We are available to help you with advise via SMS, and might be able to arrange friends at Groveland or in person, lending you a hand if need be.
You are welcome to use our 3-burner propane grill with side warmer (we provide spare propane tank to make sure you don't run out of gas. Please inform us if one of the tanks becomes empty.)

Wintertime concrete driveway becomes icy - thus use stairs going alongside the driveway.
Wheelchair access is possible with help of two people to lift up wheelchair up 3 stairs (or with use of ramps) and to make sure wheelchair descent is safe down 18 degree driveway. Bathroom doors horizontal clearance is 26".

We oftentimes see more deer passing by, than cars on our street, and neighbors are very quiet.

IMPORTANT: The house is in a gated community which you can only enter though Pine Mountain Drive gated entrance with the address: 19228 Pine Mountain Dr, Groveland, CA 95321. If you disregard the above direction, be prepared to arrive at a closed unattended gate, as your GPS might guide you there!
There's space for 3 cars to park (please park on our gravel covered parking spaces looking downhill, NOT up. Driving uphill you can get stuck in gravel. Park downhill instead, and drive off downhill stress-free :)
The closest place to buy groceries is Mar-Val Food store in Groveland.

well furnished, peaceful and relaxing
The house had everything in the kitchen that you may need to cook and so many board games and some toys for little ones. It had a keyboard and guitar too! We all had a great time during our stay. We went for a walk in the neighborhood, saw some deers and spent some time at the lake which is great for picnic and volleyball.

Why they chose this property

This house is on the edge of the community where we see more deer than cars passing by. Airplane noise, you can barely hear is the top disturbance to be complaining about.

What makes this property unique

Pine Mountain Lake community where the house is located is in the MOUNTAINS as the name suggests. Houses in the mountains are on slopes, often STEEEP slopes you cannot drive up in winter, when they are covered with ice or snow. In summer you scrape your car's bumpers and do other car damage in those houses' driveways.
The Quiet Retreat is on a lot with gentle slope, and has parking for 3 cars with no need to drive in reverse. Houses built on slopes are often several stores with dangerous steps. This house is on one level. Most houses in Groveland are decades old, and can have smells or 70's looks :) Ours was built in 2007, and is regularly updated ever since. Majority of the houses in PML are subject to some traffic and noise. We have more deer and wild turkeys traffic than people and cars combined.
