Skiable terrain
Mt. Baker Ski Area has 404 hectares of skiable terrain with 457 metres of vertical and 38 runs. The runs are divided between intermediate, beginner, and expert, so there’s something for every level of skier and snowboarder. Along with natural snowfall and mild temperatures, the resort has great steeps and natural terrain features that present challenges for advanced skiers. Most of the terrain is below the tree line as well. Beginners and children can learn with features like a handle tow and gentle progressions, while experts can find powder, steeps, chutes, and cliffs on the slopes and in the accessible backcountry.
Backcountry
One of the advantages of Mt. Baker Ski Area that makes it a local favourite is the seemingly endless backcountry. You’ll find extensive trails on untracked land in the surrounded backcountry of the mountain, such as Herman Saddle, Artist Point, and Swift Creek. Many of the trails are ideal for beginners and intermediates and can be reached by chairlift. If you want more challenges, you can hike the Heliotrope Ridge Trailhead to the glacier summit of the Mt.
