Nowadays, people are spending more money on experiences than they are 'things'. The tourism industry is aware of this, and Ontario is no different. More and more luxury accommodations are popping up for an affordable price, so luxury isn’t just a dream anymore, it’s a completely attainable goal. Which Ontario luxury resort do you want to visit?

Luxury resorts in big cities

Maybe your dream Ontario getaway includes staying in a big city and being pampered amongst the sky rises. Perhaps you love the hustle and the bustle of the busy streets or you want to catch a live show at one of the theatres. Maybe you'd like to enjoy a luxurious meal in a famous restaurant. Everybody’s ideal vacation getaway is different and, thankfully, there’s a place for them all.

Canada’s capital

Ottawa is a beautiful city to visit. It's a large city with a small-town feel to it. Canada’s capital offers up plenty of things to do as well as luxurious accommodations. Take a leisurely stroll down the sidewalks as you watch people rushing into one of the many government buildings around, or visit the Rideau Canal where you can enjoy the moment. Whatever you’re in the mood for, Ottawa is sure to have it.

Ontario’s capital

Ontario’s capital city is also its largest. Toronto is a metropolis with almost 3 million people. So, if you’re looking for some excitement and bustle, then you’ll find it in Toronto. You can dine at premier restaurants, take in world-class shows, and stay in a luxury resort. Another thing you’ll enjoy in the city is its shopping. You can visit many different shopping districts, and you’ll be able to find everything from bargains to designers.

Ontario day trips

There’s plenty to do at Ontario luxury resorts, but to see more of the region, consider taking a day trip somewhere else. Day trips help you see more of the province and experience more than if you just stick close to your accommodations. If you can think of an activity, there’s probably a day trip for it.

Winter fun

You can always stay at one of the ski resorts, but perhaps you’d rather stay somewhere else and just visit the ski resort. There are day trips for that. A popular one is Blue Mountain in Collingwood. Only an hour and a half away from Toronto, this makes a great day, or weekend, trip in the wintertime. You'll also find plenty of resorts to stay at in Collingwood if you’d prefer to live it up and be close to the mountain.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is a great day trip. It’s like a smaller, Canadian, version of Las Vegas. You can enjoy casinos, live shows, and plenty of fun attractions that will appeal to the whole family. There’s also this little waterfall there that you may have heard of. There are plenty of day tours that leave from various resorts and other locations throughout the GTA that will take you to Niagara, or you can always drive yourself. Just be aware that parking can sometimes be difficult to find.

Unwind and relax

Maybe you want to unwind and relax on your day trip. If your luxury resort doesn’t have a spa, you won’t have to go far to find high-class treatment. Spas are an excellent way to spend a day, and many offer packages that could also include swimming or hot tubs, so you might want to pack your bathing suit, even if you’re going in winter.
