Beautiful and well maintianed farmhouse. The kitchen, dining and family area is all open concept that could very comfortably accomodate the 14 of us. The house was clean and has a contemporary yet cozy vibe. We loved the fact there were mattress protectors on the beds. The kitchen is also well stocked with applicances, utensils and dishware. Our host was responsive and helpful with our questions; superb service. I would love to stay here again!

We had a wonderful time staying at Denise’s lake house.She was welcoming and incredibly friendly even offered us fresh herbs from her garden. We kayaked on the lake which was peaceful and serene and later enjoyed a fire. The lake house is exactly what we needed to relax and with it being located so close to Wiarton we were able to explore the area with ease. Thank you so much Denise for your kindness it felt like home away from home.

Wonderful place. So well equipped and clean. Kids had a ball with all water "toys." Brad excellent host. Would recommend this cottage to anyone. We will certainly be back.

Our annual visit to Shallow Lake was once again a wonderful time. So quiet and relaxing. The cottage is so convenient for trips all around the area. So clean and welcoming. Cannot recommend enough.

This was a wonderful getaway for our multi-generational family. The property and cottage were more beautiful than the pictures online did it justice. The property was flat and easy to get down to the water. The cottage had all the amenities that we needed. It was very convenient that the owners provided bed linens, towels and shampoo/conditioner, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

The Highland House is an amazing property and accommodation. Everything you need is there. The use of high quality fixtures and amenities, surrounded by an amazing setting and scenery makes for a fabulous stay! The house was clean, efficient and very comfortable. We had a total of 7 and the house did not feel cramped at all. There was loads of room for everyone. Our hosts, David and Pauline, were a delight to interact with. Very professional yet personable and very responsive. The whole experience of booking, arriving and using the property gave us peace of mind. They have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. We plan to return next year.
